Dear Martin I am sorry you have lost your dad but it seems he passed in a dignified and peaceful way at home which must have been a comfort to you all Please pass on my condolences to your mum Bridget
Hi Eve yes its good to assert yoyrself when you need to and if Slim wont then he can rely on you If only more doctors learnt how to truly listen to their patients though! So glad Slim is on the mend and hope you caught it nice and early As for upchucking on the carpet sounds like a new carpet needed there Eve!! love to you both Bridget x
Hi as I am feeling a bit peckish my word is GNOCCHI and the next one is CHI love Bridget x
Wow Nettie you are amazing there is no way I could do that how brave you are! Well you might be a bit batty but blooming heck that is batty at its best . I will pass the word about sponsoring you Thankyou Nettie for being incredible love Bridget x
Hi Mavis this post really made me smile thankyou Its just the sort of thing that happens to me too !!Tee-hee Good job we are all the same love Bridget x
Hi everyone thankyou what would I do without you to keep me going! Well today I took 20mg in the morning, because thats guaranteed to keep paon away for a few hours followed by a hefty dose of Hydrnorm liquid add an anti-sickness tablet and I was ready to face the world The RT was over in minutes and totally pain free!!Eureka I have found the magic formula and will used it again on Monday for my last dose of RT ( in truth I am a doctors nightmare because I do take control of my meds as I know what my system can take The Mac nurse calls me her clever patient!!) Dai the Bendamustine has to wait until the whole team approve funding which could take a couple of weeks Still I am hoping the RT will have proved successful by then and I will be ecstatic!! This myeloma can be so cruel , letting you plod on at a certain level only to throw a huge spanner in the works every now and again just to remind us of its power!! Onwards Upwards Sideways in fact whatever it throws at I will grin and bear it rather than let it beat me love to you all and hope you have a good weekend Bridget x
Hi Gill glad you enjoyed your course sounds like a lot of fun. I never was any good at spoken french but I can read it ok still Certain words from my schooldays stick in my head, m–de! for example I wonder if they will allow that one on here–haha Love Bridget x the answer was not allowed!
Dear Sarah so sorry your father has passed away , life just doesnt seem fair . But having read your last post he died as he wanted to Grieving will come Sarah but its not surprising you feel numb at the moment with losing both Gordon and your dad in such a short space of time Lots of love Sarah Bridget xx
Hi Tom well yesterday was pretty tough!!Usual long wait for clinic as well My next treatment is going to be Bendamustine as the doc and I agreed I probably wasnt strong enough to cope with a heavy duty chemo regime , but first he has to get the approval of the whole team to fund There was a trial but I am not eligible because they cant measure my myeloma by blood tests. On to Radiotherapy which was sheer agony but I managed it The drive home was awful as I was throwing up all the way!! Didnt expect it as last time I had no sickness! Once home I just collapsed on the sofa and slept I m really hoping today is better , once I find the anti-sickness tablets The radiographer did remind me it could take 2 weeks for the pain to go so will have to be patient I guess Hope you are good Tom and Onwards and Upwards love Bridget xx
Hi Eve and Sharon I was just wondering if Slim has had a full skeletal survey and bone scan Eve? Mine was done when first diagnosed to give them a base-line to gauge existing damage. In my case the damage is so extensive there are only two places free of myeloma, my left forearm and left thigh!!Everywhere else has more holes than any pepper pot around! As for the PET scans I though they were supposed to be the best for giving a good overall picture , tissue and bone , but cant remember where I read it sorry Good luck hope you get some answers love Bridget x ps second time I have written this the first was a few hours ago and I think it disappeared when I dozed off!!Such is the joy of life withh mm , haha
Hi Tom afraid not this time Just got home but todays appointment was a planning session where I got another tattoo Tomorrow is the first radiotherapy session and there may be another 4 So Onwards and Upwards for a bit longer Tom but I had better look out those dancing shoes!! love Bridget x
Hi Dai what wonderful news to start the day with! Its been hard fought for but you got there !! Heres to a very long remission and no drugs !! If it were me I would be tempted to drop a line to the exceeedingly stupid doctor in Wales who behaved so appallingly I hope you and Janet have got lots of fun things planned so get out there and forget about mm for as long as you can Lots of love to you both Bridgetx
Hi Solo welcome to our lovely group I do hope you dont need treatment for a very long time to come !!Tumours are quite common in myeloma , they are usually reduced with steroids as they are blood filled When diagnosed a very large tumour was found which had destroyed 3 of my vertebrae so my back has been reconstructed with rods and plates Since then I have relapsed 3 times and each time there has been a tumour on my spine Acombination of steroids and radiotherapy have got rid of them Ted I find the idea of GP using telephones to consult and diagnose a very dangerous one Like you I have never made unnecessary appointments and this argument just doesnt hold water!! Tom my pet hate of all time are receptionists who want to know why I want to see my doctor and I never tell them!! Hope you are all well going to have a rant now about govt ruining our nhs !! love Bridget x
Hi Roz I can only imagine how hard it must be for you ,Min and Sarah , none of us can really know until it happens to us Ido hope you get some counselling very soon as Mari said sometimes you have to nag your gp to get what you need Please dont ever hesitate to post on here about your feelings Roz , I very much doubt anyone could be offended by such an honest cry for help All of you are part of this mm family through good and bad times there are people on here to support you Ilove the photo ideas that will make you smile each day love Bridget x
