Hi Roz you need to click on your name where it comes up on your post thenclick edit profile , this lets you change your e-mail It is such a shame your daughter doesnt visit perhaps she finds it hard not to see her dad in the house Could you suggest meeting her elsewhere perhaps , it might be easier for both of you Hope you have a good weekend love Bridget x

Dear Eve its heartbreaking reading your post and the last thing you need when Slim is so ill is having to worry about his basic care. Although Slim is on a general ward surely his own consultant must be responsible for his care!! What sort of response have you had from the consultant or specialist nurse? I found out many years ago that when a patient with specific needs is on a general ward it is so difficult for families to safeguard their well being ( my daughter has cystic fibrosis and has to be so careful regarding infections too) What about the Patient Liason service , if I remember rightly every hospital has this service to deal with complaints, It would not be unreasonable to expect Slim to be in a side-ward , surely thats precisely the type of ward he does need , this would not help with the staff issues but at least it would allow you to heep his surroundings clean and safe. Another thing you could do is ring the mmuk helpline , they are so helpful and may be able to point you in the right direction Sending you both love and I really hope Slim starts to feel better very soon ove to you both Bridget x

Hi Angelina roller coaster it certainly is , I suppose it stops life being boring though!! Like John I lost 3 vertebrae and had surgical reconstruction , walking is difficult some days worse than others As for the pain you just learn to live with a certain level of pain controlling it as best you can. It must be very hard for you with your children being so young , hopefully it wont be long before he gets on Revlimid , the last thing you need is to spend hours waiting for drugs Keep on keeping on and heres to humour ,its got me through many a bad patch I hope you have a good weekend and dont forget we are all here for you if you need to offload love Bridgetx

Hi Angelina what a tough time you are both going through but reading your post its obvious that you and John are fighters to have got through such a hard time in the beginning Although your husband has mm I am sure your strength has helped him to get back on top and hopefully it wont be long before he is home !It is definitely better to be on oral chemo at home and although Revlimid has its side-effects they are for the most part manageable and not as drastic ! Sending you both my best wishes Bridget ps please try and look after yourself too , its exhausting watching someone you love go through an illness like mm x

Hi Min yes weird in many ways and probably always have been !! They seem to think the rise in klight chains is significant but to be honest I think they are fuessing really , who knows! What a shame Peter had a few bad days when you were so looking forward to the grandchildren coming. I agree thought the unpredictability is hard to live with , if I have a good coup;le of days and think goody now I can get on and do something then I am bound to have a crappy spell This weekend I retained so much water I couldnt get any shoes on and had dreadful back pain which I think was my kidneys , so I self -medicated and took 2 ferusimide and today feel much more normal , I cant understand why I retain so much water sometimes when I drink gallons !! Thanks for the tip about billy connoly I will borrow Jeffs i-pod next time love Bridget x

Dear Eve congratulations to you on your marriage and to Slim for turning a corner!! I hope he makes it out of itu soon . You must be exhausted I hope someone is giving you some tlc even if its only a nice cuppa when you need it. Onwards and upwards give Slim my best wishes love Bridget x

Hi Min good to hear Peter is feeling better and great that his back pain has eased up too Theres a lot to be said for sunshine, recently I read about a couple who moved to Italy just to get the relief the warmth gave them from their bone pain Not sure I would do so though , far better to take lots of holidays in the sun, I am not so tired all the time now and same as Peter the first week is not good Spreading out the dex is definitely helping and even my irritability seems less marked , I do still get that awful tenderness all over but its not as painful and lasts about 5 days. I know exactly what you mean about the sunshine showing up the dust I am desperately trying to clean the place up and fighting a losing battle at the moment !! The council are giving me a new kitchen and bathroom in a few weeks and they are doing both at the same time !!Aaargh !! I just hope I have enough energy to clean up after them Mind you I am looking forward to when its all done , they are even decorating both rooms as well which is a bonus as I cant do decorating anymore . Have a lovely time with your family , grandchildren are such a joy to spend time with arent they and I bet they cant wait to see you !!Heres to a good summer for all of us , forget the cleaning and get busy being a lady of leisure! I cant stop laughing at this post though as my birthday was in February , tee-hee lots of love Bridget x

Hi Chris I am so glad to hear you have got the all clear at last!! Bet it was driving you crazy especially with the weather being so nice My chest infection did go but I think there may be another on the way , possibly something to do with loads of mucus and I blame Revlimid Still I dont feel too bad adter the first week of the course now and even better since I take dex on one day a week for 4 weeks instead of 4 consecutive days . I hope you are going treat yourself to a nice day out or holiday now !!love Bridget x PS thought I had another birthday when I saw your post , made me smile as I thought I was a match for the queen !!HAHA as if !!xx
