Hi Tina so sorry to hear Patrick has had to come off Bendamustine .Heres hoping Pomalidomide does the trick for him and Gaye too , they are the trailblazers Love to you both and heres hoping this will be a good year for you both Bridget x
Hi Min thats brilliant those devices work really well for a lot of people My trouble is that apart from when I had pneumonia a couple of times I still enjoy smoking!! Having said that Jeff gave up last year and surprised even himself so I am sure there will be a day when I say enough is enough as I do often think about it . The thought of electronic choco;ates made me giggle can you imagine the funny looks you would get in a shop or cafe Haha would be worth inventing one just for a laugh love Bridget x
Hi Shirley I am so glad you are home it feels great after a long spell in hospital Just take it easy and it wont be too long before you are able to dance the night away If you fancy one of my hats just e-mail me your address on bridget.rochfort@btinternet.com. I never had a wig , because I am so untidy it would have been wonky more often than not!!As you say once you have gone through losing your hair once its less scary next time , in some ways its great not having to style itStay well and keep smiling Please pass on my best wishes to your sister love Bridgetx
Dear Enormous Nettie (bet you arent really!!) If I had to endure snow and cold for as long as you have this year I would be eating even more so I think you definitely have the best reason . I am sure our Wills will be back at the first sign of the spring ( suitably tanned and trim of course!!) I am afraid to take the covers off the mirrors and follow Davids advice the shock might kill me! I hope you are keeping well despite this very long winter. How is your little grandaughter ? love Thunderthighs Bridget x I may keep this name makes me sound like a bond girl Haha
Hi Min those pesky chocolates are a pain when they sit there tempting us , so its really not our fault Like you I havent had to worry about dieting for a long while because I am a smoker, still !! Thats a chllenge for another day for me but your will power is impressive . I suppose half the country is feeling stuffed to the gills too so I am going to worry about it another day !!Life really is too short to worry about a few pounds, or stones tee-hee love Bridget x ps I havent seen your post anywhere else
Hi David great news its always good to hear things have worked out well There will be no stopping you now —Tour de France??? Dont overdo it though rest when your body tells you to love Bridget x
Hi Sean sorry to hear you have to have more treatment so soon after your sct. I agree information gathering is probably the best step to take I would find out who your local Macmillan Benefits Advisor is through the hospital They are brilliant at negotiating all the forms etc and would be able to advise you about registering as disabled It really doesnt seem right that you hve to consider selling your home at a time when you are going to be having treatment and the macmillan advisor may be able to help with that issue as well Good luck and please let us know how you get on Best wishes Bridget
Dear Gaye sorry you have been having a horrible time , like you I had forgotten how bad the back pain can be , I hope you get your RT soon Great news about the Pomalidomide hers hoping it will blast the lousy mm to smithereens so you wont have to worry about treatment for a long time Happy new year Gaye love Bridget x
Hi Ron thats really interesting and I wonder if others have been warned of possible risk , it was never mentioned to me.Sorry to hear Pauline has been having a hard time and I hope she continues to feel better so you can both get back to your golf when the weather improves . I feel better than I did but I must admit the pain in my back is unbearable now and I cant wait to have the radiotherapy . I am not sure if surgery on my spine is still an option , hopefully I will find out more at clinic on the 20th At some point I will be starting Revlimid , mind you having read how many people feel tired on it that should be interesting as I am the queen of power napping as it is !!Please give Pauline my best wishes and heres to a healthy happy new year for us all love Bridget x
Hi Keith thankyou that really helps to get a picture of the process I would have been expecting immediate pain relief too , at least now I wont be impatient.I am sure it wont be too long before a more specific therapy emerges.I have just read a piece on cancer treatment origins and I amazed that the first treatment wasnt till 1942 and came about as a result of an accident involving mustard gas!! I am in awe at the advances made in the last sixty years and very glad to be here to take advantage of them Good luck with your appointment today love Bridget x
H Sharon I hope you are back home now and all went well .I have my appointment with radiologist this week and cant wait for my radiotherapy . Although I know a lot about it I am still a bit nervous about having radiotherapy so I would love to hear how you found the experience When will you find out about having velcade? Keep smiling your beautiful smile love Bridget x
Hi Gill I agree with Sarah , there must be something in the sct process which makes the desire for a dog a necessity !! In my case I dream of a little dachsund but I reall cant expect Jeff to do the walking etc so I am stuck with the furry grandson Looking forward to seeing pics of the puppy when it arrives love Bridget x ps maybe the flexi-joints would be good for Jeff then he wouldnt mind dog walking !!
Hi Sarah your comment about feeliong selfish for working jumped out at me You are most definitely not being selfish and I am sure Gordon doesnt think so either !!In some ways its reassuring when my other haif goes off and does his own thing , it makes life seem more normal if that makes sense On the other hand if you feel the time is right to stop work then go for it , I bet you wont have time to be bored!!Whatever you feel is right will be the right decision for you love Bridget x
Hi Gill sorry but as others have already said dex was a part of my recent velcade treatment Mind you it was a fairly low dose taken only 2 days a week so not as bad Stock up on ear plugs , buy yourself an i-pod even and pretend you cant hear for those dex days !!Heres hoping your peace loving hubby wont suffer from too much dexatude though love Bridget x
Hi Amelie great news about Johns remission ,long may it last The only advice I can add regarding infections is to have the pneumonia vaccine which lasts ten years .I had this vaccine 2 years ago and although I did have pneumonia last year it is likely to have been more severe if I hadnt been vaccinated love Bridget x
