Hi Donna it does sound as if calcium could be causing your dads confusion , my father-in-law had similiar earlier this year Once they got his calcium lowered he got back to normal fairly quickly. You are wise to get a second opinion hope you get some answers Best wishes Bridget

Hi Sandie hope things go well for your mum she sounds as if she is coping with it ok As for the biopsy it can be painful so your mum should ask to be sedated, I always do , then its just a bit sore for a couple of days. Hi Gill hope you and Stephen are well Are you in snowy France or snowy England ? Do the french cope with winrty weather better than we do ? Like Stephen I rely on mst but the pain is increasing despite upping my dose and being on dex and velcade. My doctor didnt say what type of surgery they were thinking of and until the surgeon has seen the scan results he wont know if he can help me . His name is Sean Malloy and he is based at the orthapaedic hospital , London When I looked him up he does seem highly experienced and according to my doctor has a lot of experience with myeloma damage I will keep you posted Oromorph is the stuff of the devil I was only on it for a few weeks and used to fall asleep mid- sentence !!Mind you just lately I found myself wishing I had some for the breakthrough pain as it is getting quite bad love Bridget x

Hi Roz as others have said I have had a visit from clergy too , nothing heavy just offering a chance to chat Please dont be upset by Michael talking to the vicar its often easier to talk to a stranger, usually because we dont want to upset those closest to us It doesnt really matter that this lady is a vicar either , it must be better for Michael to talk rather than bottle it up Perhaps she didnt say much to you because she hadnt met you , although I was surprised that she didnt ask how you were But dont try and read too much into it Roz ,dont let it worry you Hope the snowy weather isnt keeping you stuck indoors love Bridget x

Hi Georgina hope you are well . I had been on parmidronate for almost 4 yearsand my doctor felt a change would be useful Also there have been some studies which have shown that zometa when used with dex and velcade has had an effect on myeloma cells . love Bridget x

Hi Kathleen I know I am the polar opposite to you at the moment but I do know how you feel Our weight loss or gain can make a huge difference to how you feel My daughter used to have the supplement you sprinkle into food but for the life of me I cant remember the name of it !!It worked though, I used to put it in soup, mashed potatoes ,scrambled eggs , beans on toast you name it If you ask the doctor I am sure they will be able to prescribe it .Adding an egg to mashed potato adds a few more calories and anything you can add butter or cheese to is good Sorry I cant be more help and I hope you can get your appetite bak soon love Bridget x

Hi Gill thakyou for this its just what I have been worrying about for my mumShe isnt up to cooking these days and as you said would rely on a sandwich if left to herself I was getting a bit anxious about who would take her meals when I have my surgery and sct as the kids avent really cottoned onto it I shall get her a taster and see if she likes it Hope you are feeling good and not overdoing things Have a good weekend love Bridget x
