You need to look after yourself in order to look after someone else. If your health suffers you will not be able to care for your husband. Why not get some support from Macmillan Nurses in your area. They are available for the patient and the carer and I have heard they are very good. You need to talk to someone who is not related to your family so you can vent your frustrations and feelings. Just talking sometimes can help. I hope you enjoy your break. Jan

    Hi Tina.

I have been have infusions of Zometa for about two and a half years. I have been told to keep a close watch on my teeth as apparently it can make the bone continue to grow. I have also been told to be careful of any disturbance of bones in the mouth and jaw. I have had some teeth out without incident. Some crowns and fillings have dropped without explanation out but nothing drastic. Hope you are ok

Hi, I was going to New York and have MM. I saw an ad on the TV for Stay Sure Travel Insurance and was quoted £39 for a week. I thought this was very cheap. Hope this helps.

    Hi Boxer.

Sorry to hear your news. I was diagnosed with mm just before my 50th birthday. I had never heard of Myeloma. I had had a condition for 9 years prior to this known as M.G.U.S. I have had a stem cell transplant and have been stable for 3 years and counting. Like everyone says, each condition is different and each person responds to treatment differently. I just try to continue living life as before. Good luck with your treatment. The initial shock takes a little bit of getting used to but soon you will come to terms with it and regain the strength that you have always had.
Hope all goes well for you.
