Ian and I spent a night in Gleneagles, it was wonderful, staff very friendly and helpful. We had a superb meal in the Andrew Fairlie restaurant. It is expensive but it is our first break away since Ian was diagnosed in October 2012.

Meeting with consultant on Monday to discuss when Ian is going back on treatment as FLC rising.

Ian’s BMB showed 20% plasma cells but all bloods and kidney function normal. Got at least 1 months reprieve before he starts treatment again.

    Hi Sarah

Don’t give up hope. My husband was told he might never walk again and is now walking with sticks and can climb the stairs. Be positive and take one day at a time.

My husband drank lucazade which gave him energy.

  • Hi Carol
Please try not to worry I don’t believe I was ever in remission. I suffered side effect from the start and I told my consultant last week about this as I never felt well. Also I have no faith in him whatsoever this is the main reason for me going to the Christie centre. I just hope & pray that this time around they get it right. Good luck…[Read more]

  • Hi Everyone & thank you so much for taking the time to reply.
I was at the hospital today & had a bone marrow extraction (owwww) they let my sister come in with me which definitely helped me. I go back tomorrow morning for a skeletal X-Ray & I have received an appointment at the Christie Centre in Manchester. Just hoping that whatever I choose…[Read more]

I got told In November 2013 that I was in remission so that’s roughly 7 weeks. The worst of it is that I was constantly telling my consultant that I didn’t feel well so how could i possible be in remission?

    Hi Sarah

It will be good to have your husband home. Ian is now walking with sticks and getting stronger. We got a grant for a wet room with hand rails. He also has a riser recline chair, Comdex also used in the shower and a hospital bed. Speak to your social worker if you need anything.

    Hi David

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time. Hope you get that holiday. What insurance company do you use?

    Hi Sarah

Ian wasn’t advised to avoid any types of food but I do wash fruit thoroughly and we only eat red meat once a week. Was told to eat lots of proteins to heal wounds and I also give him a teaspoon ogre manuka honey every day as it is good for the immune system.

    Hope M is home soon
