    Hi Ronnie

My Husband smouldered for 6 years. He had pain in his ribs and complained for 18 months to consultant. Frank did tell her that it was muscular. She sent him for a skeletal and an MRI which showed up nothing. She was not concerned as his proteins were dropping. After nagging she sent him for CT scan which showed up 2 lesions on ribs.…[Read more]

  • Hi Keith

Read your post abouth the Dex with interest. Frank started the first cycle of CDT last month. He was taking 20 x40 mg on the first day for 4 days. The withdrawal was not nice. He felt so peculiar. When we told consultant she decided this month to wean him off. He took 20,20, 20,20,5,4,3,2. Frank said that he is going to,tell her that…[Read more]

  • Hi Tina

Frank is on 2nd cycle Of CDT. He is worse on Mondays when he takes the Chemo and the Dex together. The Frank we know disappears and a short tempered Frank appears. I know what you mean About the burps he is plagued with them. We are now in the 12th day of 2nd cycle and we have a tired Frank back – with burps and all that it brings.…[Read more]

    Hi Jo

They said that the cells had been producing Pp for 6 years and then for the past 4 months the PP's were dropping and are now at 8. Consultant went on about rogue cells and made a comment about non-secretory but I got the info from the Myeloma nurse. Am doing research on it.

Will be thinking of you on Monday, good luck

    Hi Eve

Thanks for that. A couple of months ago I asked for a print out and was told they were not allowed to print the results – saving paper!!! So i just make a note of them in Myeloma diary. They said bloods were ok haemaglobin 13.5. Said light chains had changed a bit. Now that I know a bit more I will be more demanding. I remember one of…[Read more]

    Hi

After consultation with registrar yesterday and conflicting responses to Franks protein dropping by itself (registrar saying it was good and consultant saying it was bad)I took the advice of Helen and phoned our Myeloma nurse. The long and short of it is that after 6 years, although very rare the myeloma has changed from secretory to…[Read more]

  • Hi All

The mind boggles. I'm beginning to wonder if the right hand has any idea what the left hand is doing. At hospital this morning and saw registrar. He said there was good news the protein had dropped to 9. I told him that according to the consultant this was not good news as the protein had been steadily dropping over months before CDT…[Read more]

What a lovely thought for Bridget. I never thought I would cry over someone I never 'met'. Bridget was an inspiration to me through her posts not just in answering queries that I had but her posts to other people. Her family must be so proud of her as she was a truly wonderful person. She will be missed. Rest in peace dear…[Read more]
