  • My hubby Frank has SMM, diagnosed in Sept 2006 after blood tests for something else. Had MRI and biopsy and were told he had Multiple Myeloma. It was some time before we found out it was SMM – no-one told us. Frank also has chronic back pain but consultant says nothing to do with Myeloma – it is an old injury. I am not allowed to ask…[Read more]

Gaye you have missed your vocation. You should have been a TV crtic. Very well written!!!! Poor Harry still didn't get Dr Alexandra. They left it open – so maybe the delightful three will come back to our screens. If not, sign me up for the petition.

  • Hi Min

Sorry that Peter is feeling so poorly and hope he starts to feel better soon. Really glad to hear that the dreaded sciatica has gone. Well done your son!! • Dear Sarah

I am so sorry to hear the way Gordon's family is treating him and you. It must be so hard for you to watch and listen and to hold your tongue. You must be a strong person as I don't know what I would do if I did not have the family's support.

I hope Gordon starts to feel better soon and that at some stage soon his family "wakes"…[Read more]

  • Dear Gaye

I echo what Min and Sarah has written. I think you are very brave and I know your posts have helped many. Sarah, I was like you when Frank was diagnosed – how am I going to cope – and what will I do without him. To a certain extent, I think I am still in denial. Frank was diagnosed with SMM in Sept 2006 – no treatment – but I…[Read more]

  • Hi Min

Hope your back is feeling better – Sciatica I know is very very painful. I have been doing my Wee excercises and I think I have pulled something in my back. But going to persevere. I was 58 when I took early retirement. I am not very knowldgeable about this sort of thing – so I got the Pensions branch (USS) and they put it in…[Read more]

  • Hi Min

Was just wondering how the redunancey was coming on. Have you heard any more. I forgot to mention; I worked in the University for 20 years. Our Unit was closing so all staff were made redundant. I had to contact Human Resources to agree the package and the clerk there asked if I had considered takeing early retirement as well as…[Read more]

    Dear Gaye

I have been following you post. I have no knowledge of any of the teaments but you seem to be having a rough time. I hope that tomorows pills stay down and they work.

I don't understand how people can be so nasty about a hospice. A children's hospice was built a few years ago, not far from where I live. (I think it is the only…[Read more]
