Angela is great now. Thanks for asking. Little Ben is just lovely a bit jaundiced but doing well.

Pat it is a pity that you can't be with Beatrix. Although we have 5 grand children the only one born here in Northern Ireland is wee Ben. Grand daughters were born in England so we were not around to see them developing, it's only with Ben that we realised what we missed. We now have one of our other sons back home with his wife and Maddy who is 2 and a handful. They are staying with us – have been for three months – but move into their house 1 march.

Hope wee Beatrix goes from strength to strength and you get to see the new wee family soon

Chris Frakn is also a fit 69 year old. We have been told that they won't do the STC after 70 which Frank will be end of April. At the time he said it was discrimination and as long as he was fir he would fight for a second SCT. Now I'm fighting him for the first one.

Hi Chris

In December when cells were harvested they told us that the stem cell co ordinator would come to talk to us, but she was called away. Every time we have been to the hospital we are told that she will be in contact very soon. We are still waiting. I wanted to,phone her but as Frank is having second thoughts he told me not to. We go to,hospital on to,or row week and I am going to ask nurse to put Franks file I with the consultant. To be honest Frank does not even want to see her. As you say Chris the waiting is terrible but I'm really beginning to get angry. I read on forum about people being given dates weeks ahead. We were told that they will not know when a bed will become available until that morning. Mind you in December a registrar told us he would be called before Christmas and last month we were told that the unit was not that busy and that he would make an appointment for February but he would be in before then!!!! Sorry for the rant Chris but the longer this goes on the more Frank is turning against it

Hi Carryanne

My hubby finished SCT in December. There was one month when both his feet and legs swoll up. When he phoned the unit they told him to go up. The doctor gIve him agood examination and sent him home. Eve told us to raise his feet and that seemed to do the trick. Hope things improve

Thanks for that Megan and good news for Phil. It's always on my mind and just wish we could get it started. We go on Thursday week to hospital and this time I am going to ask to see consultant – even if we have tow wait, I have such a sting feeling that she is deliberately avoiding us – hope I'm wrong but will see. I also emailed Ellen so waiting for a reply from her. I want so much info so that when we see consultant I will be a bit knowledgeable.

Hi Megan thank you for that. It has eased me a bit. I will definitely get unto Maggie / ellen. I am so worried – frank seems to be so laid back about the whole thing. I'm not sure what is going on his mind. It's because of the long wait – he has had time to think and he's getting info from a registrar instead of from the boss (consultant).

I hope Phil is doing well thanks again
