Hi Ted
All bloods except white cells an neurophils were good. (had never heard of neurophils) Both were low but neutrophils were ,8 which I think are not too good. Weird as he is not on any treatment. He has to go back on wednesday for bloods again. He says he is going to Spain but these counts makes it easy to pick up infection. Was told if he got infection he would have to have antibiotics intravenously. Wait and see game.
Hope all goes great in May, it's always good to hear positive things. Have a great holiday and come back refreshed and poke this MM the eye
Love and best wishes

Hi Bridget
Seen some posts on Face Book from you but not too many here. Hope you are doing ok. Going through the posts and came across yours. Here in Norn Ireland (as the locals say) we are renowned for "ulster isms ". My English daughter in law was home with son Robert and granddaughter Maddy at Easter. We hadn't seen Maddy since Christmas and when I went to take her from her mums arms, Maddy shied away and started to cry. I asked Kim if Maddy was "strange". Kim got so upset and said there was nothing wrong with Maddy and it took Robert some time to Make her realise that a baby being "strange" here in Ulster just means that she does not like strangers!! Nwill have to watch what I say to all you English!!!

I started counselling shortly after Frank was diagnosed with SMM in Sept 2006. The first one I had there was no connection and I never went back to her after the first visit. Macmillan put me in touch with Robin who was fantastic. It was so good to talk to someone who did not know Frank and was not judgemental. I was with him for about 5 months before I felt I could go it "alone". Then early 2011 I felt I had to go again. I was put in touch with Declan, who was also very good. I think it is important that there is a connection between you both. I was with Declan for about 4 months and it is a comfort to know that there is someone at the end of the phone. I also have to mention the support I got from my friends on the forum, particularly from two of the under 50's group who helped me tremendously. I hope if you decide to go you get as much out of it as I did.
My best wishes to you

Thank you all for your informative replies. Frank contacted hospital about antibiotics and was told that if he got an infection – temperature he would have to contact them as the antibiotic would have to be given introveniously. What I really don't understand is that Frank has never had any treatment. He is SMM. he is going to contact the Radiotherapy department tomorrow to see where he is as regards the appointment. As he is not on the system I take it that somewhere along the line he has been mislaid. Hope we get it sorted soon. I think that Spain is better left till another day. I also, thing that I will impose self quarantine. Once I really appreciate your advice.
Many thanks

Hi Eve
I have an iPad and I downloaded Kindle free from the App store. I set up an account with Amazon and get my books within seconds. They are usually cheaper than hard copy.
Jo hope things are good with you.
Best wishes

Hi Jo
That's my action plan!! I have 4 sons, 4 grand daughters and now want a wee grand son, but I would like him close at hand. I only have one grand daughter here and she is 14. Would just love a wee baby. We were supposed to be going out today with my sister and family but we have had real heavy showers so I gave the bathroom a good going over. No-one can say I don't know how to enjoy myself :-S ? Get your picture uploaded – I just love Looking at the pictures. Tom posts some great ones of his family on Face Book. Hope things are good for you.

Hi Mavis
I must have missed some of your posts as I did not realise that you were having such a rough time of it. Glad that things are heading the right way. I will keep you in my prayers. Hope you have a great Easter.

Hi Stephen
I am so sorry for the pain that you are going through. It was good that you were able to spend a lot of time with Dawn. I am sure that you have lovely memories that will give you comfort. My husband Frank, was diagnosed with smouldering Myeloma in September 2006. Only treatment he has had is Zometa. He has good days and bad ones. This site was a God send to me. They are such a lovely group of people. Some people have bad problems of their own but if they can give support, advice, and share experiences they will. Stephen you can come on here and rant and rave as much as you like. I hope you do use this site as it was the best thing for me.
Good wishes to you
