I agree totally Bridget – brilliant. The first episode – wasn't sure – but as it progressed- brought back memories. The mid wife that my mum had was called Madge and she was a huge lady. My mum was in labour and the baby was breech – Madge needed a rest (!!!!) and plonked herself on the bed, the bed collapsed, my poor mum, told us later that she thought the end of the world had come!!
Hope they do a second series.

Oh Bridget I am so sorry to hear your news. You are such an inspiration to many on this forum and if anyone can get over this hurdle you can!! I wish you well and my prayers are with you.

Hi all
Well there's a turn up fit the books! Here in N Ireland we always get the rough weather but at the moment the temp outside is in the balmy 7's or 45 in real money. Enjoy the snow. We will probably get it eventually!

Hi Bridget
Hope you are well. As I was reading your post I looked out the window and it was just starting to snow – very fine. Hope it stops as don't want to be snowed in like last year!,

Hi Gill
Your wonderful news made me cry – with happiness. Stephen and you have both been throug so much and it was brilliant to read. I echo Jo = hope things get even better. You know yourself what posts like this do for us all.
My love and best wishes to you both.

Hi Jo
Good to hear from you and have fingers crossed that you get the all clear in April. I am recovering from the dreaded tummy bug and staying away from Frank – don't want him to get it. Frank has his good and bad days. Still not on treatment. Mind you – on the Myeloma Beacon, their is reseach going on in Spain that suggests that patients with SMM should start treatment right away- another question for the consultant in February!!
We are not too bad in Belfast – since the troubles ended but most of the big shows go to Dublin and that is about a 2 hour drive from us and FRank couldn't do that long is a car.
Keep well and everything crossed for April.

Hi Jo
Sounds brilliant. Always wanted to see Phantom of Opera but don't think it will ever come to Belfast. Enjoy your brekkie and hope the rest o the weekend is great. Keep well.

Dear Gill
I am so sorry to read of the horrible time you and Stephen are going through. My heart goes out to you both. The only thing I know about Dex is what I read about it on here. As Eve and Bridget say is there nothing else he can take? I have been following your journey and am so sorry that you find yourselves here. My love thoughts and prayers are with you both.
Love Jean. xx
Hi Scott
Frank is also like you – if he needs to know anything his consultant will tell him. That is great. I only look at myeloma uk, myeloma beacon and ASH.
best wishes
Jean
Hi Helen
I don't know anything about Cardamon although i am doing some research on it. Going to ask consultant about it. There was a thing going round a couple of years ago – think it was Curcumin. Not sure if is same thing Myeloma Beacon is an organisation in America which gives information on Myeloma. Not sure what other members of forum think about it but at moment I am following Spanish research on smouldering myeloma

Hi Clare
Sorry to hear that you are feeling down. My husband has MM and when diagnosed I went to pieces. It was organised for me to see a counsellor through Action Cancer. I went and it was a disaster. Although I just met the counsellor, there was nothing between us. I got the impression that she would rather be elsewhere. I never went back. Still was not able to handle things. A friend who worked in the cancer unit got me an appointment with a counsellor through Macmilllan. Robin was fantastic – I was at ease with him and went for months untill I knew I could go it on my own. After 4 years I found that I needed to talk again, Robin had retired and I was put in touch with Declan. Once again he was really nice and he helped me a lot. Sorry Clare for going on – a long way to say that you have to have a connection and trust with the person that you are going to tell your thoughts to. It might take a few appointments till you find one but you will. Try again. It really helped me and it is a comfort to know that if I need them they are there.
I hope that you get someone soon
Love Jean

Hi Ed
Hope you had a nice new year and that 2012 wil lbe better for your wife, you and your family. If you are interested in seeing a counsellor ask at the clinic or the Macmillan nurses. As I said may not be for everyone but with the help of people on the forum and the counsellor -I was pulled out of a dark place, and it is reassuring to know that they are just at the end of the phone if I need them
Best wishes you
Love Jean x
