    Hi Jo

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. He is going to see GP tomorrow but our GP knows nothing about Myeloma. I admit that I am so scared, I wish he would see consultant, or at least go for and xray, but it is in Gods hands now.

Glad you enjoyed Grand Canary. Frank was saying today that he would like to go to Maspolamas in May!!!! He is he*l for making plans. (would not let mme post he*l)

Thanks again, I am off to have a large Gin and Tonic (again) to see if I can wind down.

You are so right Eve. Slim and Frank sounds like clones!!! Frank was a late baby ~(although has brother and sister) but his family doted on him and he always got his own way, and still expects to get his way. He really does not understand what is going on my head. I also think that his "on mindedness" (is there such a word) will help him with this disease. I do admire how he copes with this myeloma, I know I could not do it. When he is pain free, the dreaded word Myeloma or anything to do with the illness is never mentioned. We live from one onsultant appointment to the next.

Thanks Eve and everyone. I hope Slim is feeling a bit better today.

    Hi all
Thank you all for your responses. I can relate to points on all of your posts. Last week when Frank was in so much pain, I could not take any more and I told him that I was going to phone the Myeloma nurse or the doctor. He went ballistic. Kept on about it not being in his ribs and as you say Min ?I know my own body, and this is muscular?. After reading your posts I decided to talk it out with him. But no luck. He told me that he was not going to discuss it and that I was to do nothing. He would go mad if he knew that I was discussing it on the forum, but I have to talk to people who know what it is about. If I go behind his back and contact doctor or nurse and he found out ? there would be h**l to play. So I have to accept what he wants to do. You are right Eve, I am not going to change him. We are supposd to be going to Spain for 10 days and he is looking foreard to it. Sarah I hope Gordon is feeling better.

Thank you all so much. I really appreciate the support.

Pain is no easier today. I have convinced myself that this sh**ty disease has kicked in. He is going to see doctor again on Tuesday but I want to phone consultant and he wont. We are supposed to be going to Spain on Friday and I dont want to go. Frank says that he is going. Why dont blo**dy men ever listen. Sorry to all you men out there – dont mean you

    Sorry for going on.

Thank you all for your replies. I managed to persuade Frank to go and see doctor. The doctor said that it was a pulled muscle but I am not happy about it. I want him to contact the Myeloma nurse but he wont. He gets quite angry when I talk about it. It does not hurt when he is still but when he moves it is really painful. I askd if it was in his ribs but he is so adamant that it is no. There is no taling to him. His next appointment is not till 14 April so I will just have to sit and worry and watch him.

    Thanks once again

    Hi Amanda

Here in Belfast counselling is available, it was arranged through the Cancer Resource Center. I went to counselling when Frank was first diagnosed. I went for about 6 months and it really helped me. I had to go back again to see the counsellor iddle of last year afor about 2 months. Declan (the consellor was brilliant) and the door has been left open for me if I want to go and see him again.

I hope things go well for your mum and it is so important that you look after yourself.

    Take care

    Hi Amanda

My welcome also to the site. The site and the lovlely people
on it has seen me through ddifficult times. My husband was diagnosed with Smoulderig Myeloma in September 2006. I really did not understand whY they did not start treatment right away. The only thing they give Frank was was Zometa for about 6 months. But he has great faith in his consultant and for the past 4 and a bit years we have tried to live a normal a life as possble. We go on holidays and I have to say we enjoy life. We see consultant every two months. I really understand how you are feeling as I went through exactly the same thing – I wanted sOmeone to do something and DO IT NOW. I also hate the word CARER. I wish your mum many years of being reatment free and my very best wishes to you an your sister.

    Hi Gill

When Frank was first dignosed we used MIA for travel insurance. He is not on any treatment and has only had Zometa. Last time we were going we contacted MIA again and tey refused to insure him. They said that they had changed their policy. They were not very forth coming. W were told about Columbus insurance and we got a gret deal from them.

I hope you and Stephen get to France soon (place I always wanted to visit) and that treatment goes well.

    Best wishes Jean x
