Hi Ange
I too was recently diagnosed with SMM in June. PP was 30 but has slowly crept to 38, but it was good to hear from my consultant last week (I go every 4 weeks) that they wont start treatment till PP is 50+. Like you I have no symptoms, and I hope the back ache I am getting is down to stress rather than anything else, but I am due to have…[Read more]

Hi Tina,
Well done on the stem cell harvest!! My husband Phil had radiotherapy on both of his legs, five sessions over five days. Side effects are obviously different for everyone but Phil felt tired but didn't suffer from any nausea. The tiredness may have had as much with having to travel into the hospital everyday as with the actual…[Read more]

Hi Janet
Interested that you have the same problem as me. The annoying part is, I didn't have any problem all the time I was on CDT, but since I finished, nearly two months ago now, my hair has thinned alarmingly and, like yours, is very brittle and dry.
Let's hope someone has a solution for us!!!
Best wishes any way.

Hi Pat
AL is similar,it is rarer,I think 600 cases a year, last time I looked and only one hospital Royal Free, there are a few people on here with both Amyloyds plus MM,they usually pop up in related conditions.
It is not knowing that causes sleepless nights,so once you do know you feel you have something to fight,Velcade works for MM.
Its…[Read more]

Hi All
I was quite surprised today at clinic that my pp has fallen from 37.1 to 34.5. Is it common to fluctuate like this? The downside was that my hb is falling each time and is now 10.3. I am still being kept on 4 weekly follow up.

Hi Vicki and Colin
When Colin's Back is not too good then that calls for a lean over and a shoulder charge 🙂 and am sure that will work just as well but it needs plenty of screaming to go with it ha ha.
You two enjoy the week 😎 it aint gonna be warm but it will soon be christmas ha ha

Hi Judy
It is not unusual to feel this way, after a few months any one will tell you it is part of the grieving process. You want answers and are entitled to ask questions.
I have always made a point of keeping records of blood results as they can tell you a lot about a persons condition.
When you saw the consultant on the Tuesday who told…[Read more]

Dear Judy
So sorry you are having such a hard time although it is very understandable given the circumstances. You are entittled to answers. I do hope someone is helping you to get them. Have you put a complaint in? The Hospital's PALs service should be able to help you if you haven't got anyone else on side.
Have you family to share…[Read more]
