Hi Pete
Thanks for your post. I appreciate everything that you have said about Support Groups and I am looking forward to going in October. I suppose, as Frank was not on treatment, I was like the ostrich – head buried in the sand – but if I'm honest I was scared to go to a group, as I did not want to hear or see what the future held. I'm…[Read more]

Hi Peter
Sorry you closed the support group down as i think its a great help.
I believe you dont need many to go to a support group all you need is a few willing folk and hope that (and we are getting them) new members spot the posters at your local hospital.
Whatever way it runs Peter at least you tried 😀

Great Read John thanks for the link.
Its bloomin sad that even when you are near deaths door you have to beg to try this or that I swear if and when it comes to me they could use bloomin bleach poured down my throat if they "Thought" it could help and bugger the costs 😎

Hi everybody,
Not been on here for a while as me and kev have been passing each other chest infections twice! After finally giving it the heave ho! We went to clinic three weeks ago for results of his MRI on his back and as suspected vertebrae damage which will need treatment when he finishes the velcade/ dex, we went into clinic today and they…[Read more]

I agree Michele. My husband had SMM for 6 years and has just started treatment. I never felt inclined to go to a support group and Frank would not even talk about it, but now that treatment has started I feel the need to go. I will be going to my first one in Belfast in October.
As you say cope with Mm in your own way

Hi Louise
We have used quite a few travel insurance companies in the past. We had to find a new one when Frank turned 65. The one we have used for our past holidays has been Columbus direct. 02082569045. We found them very helpful – but be prepared to answer lots of questions. We used them for a cruise in the Caribbean. Lots of people on the…[Read more]

Hi Tina
I am just over a week over six rounds of CDT. I still feel very tired, especially in the evenings, but I'm glad to say I am sleeping OK, apart from toilet stops!!
At least my taste is coming back, but, unfortunately, I am having problems with my teeth! Have been to the Dentist twice. If things don't improve I am going to have to…[Read more]

Dear Keith
Sorry that you are having to cope with the glucose discrepancies as well as the MM. Diabetes is a horrible complication I do hope your specialist can offer some helpful suggestions. It is hard to keep our spirits up when things are so difficult. Difficult for those around us!
Hope things get better for you soon.
