Hi Kay
Like others I'm pleased to hear that over all your SCT has gone well. I know bone pain can be so debilitating and depressing. Hold in there and do make sure you are given good pain killers. It does take a lot of patience to find the best for you.
Be kind to yourself.
All best wishes.

Hi Chrisitne
You all do right to get SCT put off till after Christmas. Last year they wanted to start my radiotherepy days before Christmas and I held out without any noticable effects. I think Consultnants sometimes forget how important these family times are and this will be especially good for your father if he is feeling better then…[Read more]

I'm off for my flu jab tomorrow so hope I fare better.
All best wishes.

Hi Jim welcome to our little club that no-one wants to be in! It must have been a huge shock for you , in fact it is for us all I was 51 , but 40 does seem too young The advantages are that your physical fitness will stand you in good stead when it comes to treatment and hopefully you will get to a point where you are in complete remission, so…[Read more]

Hello Dee
Glad to hear that Mike is feeling a bit better. The trouble with Myeloma is that none of us will have heard of it before we were diagnosed. I agree that getting as much knowledge yourself is very enpowering. I find the Myeloma beacon Site (USA) very helpful – they have links to interesting videos.
Another thing to keep in mind…[Read more]

Hi Gilly
Nothing surprises me these days, they have got in touch with there legal side before they approached you,I take it this stemmed from a written warning and a consultation,Well to put it bluntly they want you out,
I do not know your circumstances,or how much you need to live, but you can either fight them, but do you need all the hassle, they…[Read more]

Hi Christine
Cannot help you much on this one, except to say,Velcade did create a feeling of anxiety and general accident prone moments, not sure if it was Velcade, but put it down to doing to much and not drinking enough fluids.
Your dad must be feeling pretty bored not being able to do much, and being so young and active, surprised you cannot get…[Read more]

Hi Gilly
I also swear by Manuka honey. My hubby has MM and I give it to him and I also take it. I did a bit of research on it and from what I gathered it is supposed to be a natural anti biotic. It is expensive – there are different strengths – the higher the strength, the higher the price!!

Sorry that you are ill…you are right about the weekend thing…I felt awful on Thursday and Friday, and probably should have been sensible and not gone to the London Infoday today. Especially since my son was sick this morning!! Typical!
