    Dear Gaye,
That is a most wonderful story, particularly at this Christmas time. Your kindness is a wonderful example of the human spirit that seems to be lacking at times in this crazy world. I salute you.

    My dear Min,
Of course you are allowed to get angry. Its an emotion, just like fear, sadness, laughter and love. It means you are human. I have got angry too and have regretted each time that I did, so much. I have been caring (as best as I can) for the past four and a half years and, just like my long suffering but beautiful wife, I get my good…[Read more]

Well David, apologies for not wishing you well. Somehow I didnt realise you were undergoing your most recent procedure. With a positive cheerful personality like yours, I have no doubt you will get through with flying colours. Dont forget, there will be the odd setback (or ambush!) but remember (as Kipling said)"…be thankful you're living, and…[Read more]

  • My dear Roz,
Your posts have shown us all how good and strong a human being that you are. Your troubles are shared by us all and I wish I could take some of the pain from you. I am not a particularly religious type. I just want to do some good during my time on this Earth, and not offend or hurt anyone else. I can see no harm in you saying a…[Read more]

  • Gosh Lynn, what can I say?. As a fellow Carer I know that there can be times when everything seems to be pointless. However, just do your best for John, because he needs to know that you are there for him. I am pretty hopeless at saying the right thing, but I am sure that there will be many more replies to your posting, and they will be a lot more…[Read more]

  • Hello Gill,
I'm a bit uncertain about the term "Consolidation Trial", but my wife has had three cycles of Valcade since October and, despite some side-effects, seems to be managing so far. Perhaps this "Consolidation" tning is a different type of treatment?.
Best of luck, whatever your decision.

  • Hi Min,
Thats good news about the breathlessness. Since Cecila has been off Vecade (for 2 weeks now) she too has recovered from that problem. I'm sure that after a while, Peter will develop a sleepng pattern, although it may not be similar to yours – ie again like Cecilia, he may be awake all night but sleeps during the day.In time, things will…[Read more]

    Last week was my birthday
and I didn't feel very well
    waking up on that morning.

    I went downstairs for breakfast
hoping my wife would be pleasant
    and say, "Happy Birthday!", and
possibly have a small present for me

    As it turned out,
    she barely said good morning,
    let alone "Happy Birthday."…[Read more]
