    Hi Mal and Bruce

All best wishes for 14th and afterwards. A neighbour with home dialysis used to go on holiday and get the requirements delivered at the hotel so the world will be your oyster! Well, maybe not the world, but … !

I do hope you get the hang of all the machinery very quickly.

    Love Mavis

    Dear Terry

Welcome. Sorry you've had to join this select fighting band. No wonder you are feeling nervous with so much to contend with. Others will help specifically on SCT side – I haven't had one, but just wanted to say Hi and send my best wishes.

    Hi Graham

sory the saga is continuing. All the best with the tests.

    And Hi Tom!

Very interested in the symptoms you describe with your rib pain. It is very like something I have (especially the rolled up dish cloth bit!). I haven't mentioned it to my Consultant as it does somewhat come and go in severity. What did they do for yours and did you ever find the exact cause. You have probably gathered from my other posts that I'm not one to want any treatment I can avoid.

    Will appreciate your imput.

    Best wishes.

    Hi Jo

Welcome to the site. Sorry you have had to join, but at least is sounds as if your partner has responded well to the treatment. You can't beat a zero reading! This gives a very good starting point for the SCT. There will be lots of folk on here who can give you advice about that.

All good wishes to you both.

    Hi Chrissie

So sorry to hear that David finally lost the battle to live. He certainly gave it his best shot.

Of course you feel realy broken up and wondering how you will cope. It is such early days the pain of your loss will be really acute, and it is almost worse when you have been a very close couple. It is good that David was able to come home for some of his last hours, I'm sure that meant a lot to him to know he was surrounded and enfolded by your love.

Do be kind to yourself now. Don't beat yourself up wondering if you should have persuaded him to make different treatment decisions. You will have done what seemed right at the time.

I am glad Min has been generous enough to offer support as she really knows something of what you are going through.

Do hang on to those precious memories. You don't say if the funeral has happened yet. It not, I do hope it is a fitting tribute to David's life. If it has already been, I hope it was.

    Much love.

    Hi Helen

Just caught up with your posts. So sorry John has had such a bad time these past few days – just when you would have liked plain sailing to his SCT. I do hope he bounces back soon.

I expect that trying to work out the connection between MM and other cancers, and how we got MM, is something a lot of us on here do. I had uterine cancer five years before being diagnosed, but following an MRI they said I was completely clear of that, so no link there.

I had a bone graft after a two stage hip replacement and I often wonder if I got some dodgey bone!!!

But whatever, I guess we all just push on doing the bast we can to make the most of our re-adjusted lives. It does help that so many people on here are so positve in spite of having so much to cope with.

I do hope you manage to meet up with other MMers in Wales, I am sure it will help.

All best wishes to you both.

    Hi Dai

Sorry you have this bereavement to deal with along with everything else. It's so hard to make sense of it.

Hang in there and value each day you are given without feeling guilty as you have so much to cope with.

    Hi David,

Just know you will get to your 50th Anniversary and much beyond. Let's face it, in the scale of things, even though your PP is measurable, the figures are still very low. Mine is now 13 and still no treatment apart from zometa.

    Onward and upwards as always!

    Hi Dai

I just can't understand why you should be having such a difficult time – one d–m thing after another. I do feel for you and Janet. Will keep everything crossed that you get on the active arm of the trial.

Good job you are both the sort who won't give up. I will also keep you in my prayers.

    Lots of love.
