Good news Richard it sounds as though its all moving in the right direction, i recall reading your intial entry and things have certainly moved on considerably for all of us here, gosh don't we learn fast with this illness. Great to hear that you are enjoying the lovely summer in Germany with your little one, its been so lovely here too but a little cooler. It is hard to see your lovely wife lifting heavy objects when you used to do it but you really have to take care now and i so hope that you can have your SCT soon. Good luck with your voluntary work you will soon have those folk smiling i am sure 😎 all good fun! best wishes San x

Gosh David see what you mean re dear Dai's dental experience i never thought that it could all become so complex, leave well alone unless you have to have something done i guess but if you are in pain then finding a dentist who can or would want to do an extraction could take a time it seems:-/ yes Dai i will follow your tooth with interest too ha! :-0 San x

Thank you so much Jean and Frank for your good wishes i don't think that Mum can believe it yet! as you say it will take time, she is 77 in 12 days and we are having a celebration on two fronts 🙂 , gosh its hard to think that even dental treatment is complicated with this illness :-/ hope that Frank is doing ok and that you are keeping well too, take care love San xx

Hello Linda, so sorry to hear your news, i am sending you, your Mum and the family love, Mum will know that you are there as she will hear you, hearing i have been told is the sensory ability that is retained even when we think that the person is drifting in and out of sleep. It is sad to think that Myeloma is being missed so much in older people when the signs are glaringly obvious really to those that know this illness, i so hope in the future that with more awareness people will be diagnosed earlier, take care at this difficult time San xx

Dear Jean sorry to hear that you and Mike are having a difficult time, can you take some time out just for you a little relaxation for a few hours it is hard as a carer and employee at these times but you can and should look after you:-) , it might help Mike too in a way. Eve is right there may be other options as yet unexplored keep digging around, would talking to our lovely Myeloma nurses help? good to think that you can rant on this site sometimes thats all we need for the moment, love to you both San x

Hello Tracey, pleased to hear that the nurse is visiting your Mum, as Dick and Dai said the fluids are all important, Mum might be dehydrated and may even have a urine infection which will be easily resolved so some urine and blood tests should show up any current problems and hopefully Mum will feel better and be more receptive after she has been helped medically, if you are in any doubt contact Mum's GP or the unit where Mum is being treated better to get things checked out quickly, take care and best wishes San x
