Did someone mention my name ha ha, hi Sandra,my name is Shirley,i had an allo transplant back in December,i'm 45,43 when i got diagnosed with mm,i had the allo transplant on reccomendation of my consualtant. The healing process has been slow and very tireing, you find you sleep alot, but as the saying goes while your sleeping your healing,i have had a few weeks were i felt quite low,but i think i've turned a corner and starting to pick up quite nicely The hospital i'm with is Plymouth Derriford, its a brillant hospital,i've had no bad experiences, the nurses and doctors are terrific. At the moment i'm taking about 5 differant tablets,my appetite has been pretty poor, and i'm just starting to pick up with that not much but its a start,i can sleep for Briton ha ha,. I do hope that if your going to have one or someone you know is going to have one, that it all goes well, please don't be afraid to ask me anything i'll be glad to help, take care for now Shirley x x x x
Hi Sarah, when i went in for my sct back in december,it was my second time,so knew what to pack,i made sure i had plenty of night wear, plenty of wipes and moisture toilet roll, hospital food didn't go down well,so i took in cuppa soups, plenty of moisture cream as your skin tends to dry out,i took in loads of reading material, hope this can be of some help, good luck for next week take care Shirls x x x
Hi Roz,lovely to see you on here,i haven't been on here much,to be honest i've been feeling to tired and quite low,my emotions are all over the place, but picking up again.Glad your doing well yourself, time is great healer and sounds like your doing just fine, x x take care Shirley xx
Hi David, just been reading your post, and well done to you on your progress to getting better, thats really good news,i'm not far behind you on having the stem cell transplant,i had mine on the 20th December, and like you, been told i'm doing really well, bloods are great, paraprotein remain unmoved but they are very low but they don't seem worried. Are you out and about yet,i'm allowed to my local supermarkets as long as i don't over do things, allowed to visit family and friends homes as long as no one is poorly, just getting out of the house for a little while makes me feel so much better,. Well i hope you continue to do well on your road to recovery and take care David, best wishes Shirls x x
Hi everyone, thanx for replies,i had my bloods done again today, all results are coming back fantastic,i did wake up this morning feeling quite sick and very weepy, but ok again now. David you sound just like me,if i saw that lonely little puppy i would've fallen for him,my problem at the moment is that i would love a white westie, but i'm having trouble finding breeders in the Devon/Cornwall areas,i might suggest to Stephen first about going to a cats and dogs home, knowing me i'll come away with a scruffy muffin ha ha. I visited the Mustard Tree today and had a really good chat and a cry with one of the ladies who work there,i came away so much better,i sometimes forget they are there, and they are really lovely.Hope all is well, apart from feeling a weepy today i feel good, everything is going the way it should, speak again soon hope everyone is well take care Shirls x x x
Hi Myra hope all goes well on the 7th for you,bet its been great having a break from the hospital,i'm still up there every other day, tryin to get my ciclosporin and magnesium levels balancing just so,heamglobins have been fine as everything else, just wish i could shake this tiredness off,i sleep anywhere ha ha,anyway you enjoy you freedom for a little bit and hopefully see you soon,oh enjoy the next support meeting, love Shirls x x x x x
Oh no,hope your gonna be ok,the only trouble they are having with me at the monent is getting my cyclesporin levels right,i've to stop again tonite and tomorrow morning and start again tomorrow nite. Everything else is doing well, just the tiredness,i can fall asleep anywhere my tushi is parked ha ha ha. Your right about hospital visits its such long days and has me wondering was it worth being allowed home early but then i see my hubby and say yeah its worth it,he's been brilliant.Hope you are feeling alot more better now life can be so unfair take care for now Shirls x x
Big well done you,Micheal would've been so proud of you as well as your daughters and grandaughter,. Your gonna have days when you feel like poop and if you ever want to scream, rant and rage and have a good old weep, come on here, never feel your alone ok,you take care, Shirls x x x
Hi Myra, how you doing, its lovely being home, nothing like your own bed and pillows and a soak in the bath to make you feel human again,i'm loving it,i'm back up for checkups on Monday, everything is heading in the right way so i'm pleased with that,. I do hope your well see you soon luv Shirls x x x
Hi Sharon, how you doing, hope you are well. I'm preparing for whatever hits me, been made aware of what to expect, its the trips back to the hospital every other day thats tiring me out at the moment,we were up there yesterday, nearly 6hrs we sat waiting for my magnesium levels to come back, our hospital is so warm it really does tire you. They found my ciclosporin levels were high,so that got stopped last night and today, and start again in the morning on a lower dosage, other than that everything is going the right way x x
Oh Roz,i'm so very sorry to hear about Micheal,my sincere condolences to you and Andrea, remember all the good and happy times Roz,you take care best wishes Shirls x x x x x
