    Hi All

I have thought about what I posted and have realised that I am not actually "rude" (at least I don't think so) but maybe have become too honest.

When asked by the server in a multiple eatery where we had breakfasted during a long journey (the one where a chef is tiny) "how is your meal, everything OK?" Instead of my usual reply of…[Read more]

Since Stephen (mm husband) has been ill. I have changed into a What? Monster? A more honest person? ????

I don't know if this is the right place to post this because it is not medicinal but boy has it helped.

Stephen has had a very dry mouth. He has been unable to get his mouth to produce much saliva and, as a result, the little that he could eat was h**l (the real word got blocked) to swallow and get down.

He was told that the the radiotherapy…[Read more]

So pleased you managed to get a decent quote I hope you have a great time.

Just to add for info that it is also worth looking at MIA and we found that we were insured by our general health insurance for travel. So do check any insurances you already have

I have only just caught up with your post of Amy. I have fond memories of listening to very talented tribute bands on various holidays. They always seemed to be having a fun time as well as entertaining the holiday makers. She sounds really good and I hope she is having a great time.

Fingers crossed that you get over to see her soon.

  • Hi Sue

My mm husband, Stephen, came out from hospital over 2 weeks ago after receiving his 2nd SCT. He has not been very well since but we are plodding on.

Trying to get him on a Bendamustine clinical trial was mentioned after Stephen relapsed following his first SCT and his consultant was not aware that he had further stem cells…[Read more]

  • Dear Joanna,

Very sorry to hear Bendamustine did not work for you. It's interesting to see how treatments differ so much across the board. Patrick was not using either thalidomide or dex during his Bendamustine treatment, probably why he didn't suffer with side effects – and maybe why the treatment worked for him for 9 months, who knows?
    The…[Read more]

    Hi Sarah

Sorry to hear that Gordon's second SCT has not done the trick. Stephen is seeing his specialist on Friday to find out if his second SCT has helped.

He is feeling quite unwell at the moment so I am worried that the news will not be good. I hope Gordon's new drugs help and wish you both luck

I got the gist of your post wrong and thought you wanted an exact outcome of the procedure (I shouldn't post so late at night:-/

I hope all is going well Love from Gill xx

    Hi Min

I am so glad I am not the only wierdo in the UK. I hate tennis too.

I know how you feel about getting angry. I have felt, at times, completely fuming and bewildered as to how Stephen could get so ill. Almost like "Stephen what did you do???"

    Dear Min

I am so sorry that I have not picked up on your postings before. Being busy with Stephen being home I have not really looked at the site. I am pleased that Peter seems to be on the mend and hope that he is home on Monday and feeling much better.

  • Hi All,

I was so worried about Gaye I contacted Barts Hospital to see If I could get the heads up. Gaye was not an in patient and there was no record of anything untoward happening to a person of that name in the past weeks. I hope this means that Gaye is still hanging in there and is just too tired to come on line.
