  • My darling husband Patrick lost his long brave fight against this b****rd disease last night. He overcame many hurdles having success with older more unconventional drugs than the new which our wonderful consultant was willing to try. Dear Mary

I am so sorry for your loss. Painfree and comfy is all any one of us asks for at the end, and the fact that he was able to tell you that he had enjoyed his life is really nice to know.

    Hi Bridget

Why didn't they think to ask your friends on here? We could have told them about you (and the rest of us) being weird:-)

Stephen seems to be similar to you with mm. PP not too bad but boney damage very bad.

Stephen's consultant is not sure which way to go. He meets with a group of specialists regularly (TBM tumour board…[Read more]

  • When the Doctor told Stephen that they could not do a second SCT he said that an unrelated allogenic SCT was too much of a risk. At the time I was shocked that there were no more of Stephen's own cells stored as I remember very clearly that they got loads on one go. Stephen even asked if some could be given to anybody else. As the poor lady in the…[Read more]

You should be in bed madam:-) Yes he will be put on revlimid but we were told that it will not help for very long in Stephen's case. I don't think he was that surprised. Dr S gave a great big hint tonight that Stephen should, maybe, put his affairs in order. He is only 56. We are more than likely talking about less than a year. He can have a second SCT but he was warned that he would not gain much time from it.

He has taken it far better than me I am a wreck.

    Thanks for listening you lot

When we visited our solicitor regarding our marriage we were really surprised at the lack of any rights a "common law" partner has. Without wanting to be depressing most of it did revolve what would happen if one of you died first.

    Hi Eve and Slim

When we got around to getting married we visited our UK solicitor to change wills, status etc. and like you we found out that although not as archaic as France here in the UK you have few rights if you are not married. She compared a "common law" wife, or husband, to the law according to the Daily Mirror!!!.

    Congratulations,…[Read more]
