    Hi Lois

    I have one or two

Hiccups My Cure when you get them ::: fill your mouth with water, place fingers in ears to block them, then swallow slowly till all water has gone, (works for me every time)

    surround yourself with nice people.

be honest with Family and friends with how you feel, honest it helps you and them cope better

Listen to your body, if it tells you to rest, rest

do good things on good days.

Good Luck with the Book i think its a great Idea.

    Hi Susie

Sorry in my late reply and am sorry I cant help as so far i have a little bit of back pain but its (or so am told) arthritis ???   am sure your bloods will tell your Consultant if the Myeloma has kicked in and my advice would be to talk to him or his secretary and ask for more bloods to be taken and let them have a look.

Good Luck and I hope you stay as you are for years and not  need treatment

    Hi Graham

Sorry for the delay in my reply, but a warm welcome.

I am age 58 now and had my treatment CDT in feb 2009 leading up to my SCT in December 2009 was in remission and drug free for four years,

So what you are going through is a doable but you will have to listen to your body and when it tells you to rest rest its the only way.

My Myeloma has kicked off again and I am on my forth Cycle and third Velcade in that Cycle.

as for the Hiccups my chosen method and it works for me all the time is :::: fill you mouth up with water, put your fingers in both ears, and then swallow SLOWLY and then walla all gone 🙂

Good Luck in your road to remission

    Morning Rachel

sorry to hear about your Brother, and I wish him luck in the road to remission.

i was diagnosed in 2009, had CTD leading up to the SCT in dec 2009. That gave me four years remission and drug free.

my myeloma has returned and am now on Velcade and Dex, just started my fourth cycle on it and to be fair it’s treated me pretty good, not too bad with side effects to be fair.

any Q then please ask away.

    Hi Izzie

Good Luck with the pencil in SCT but the sooner the ink is on the better lol,

I had a bit of PN  in 2009 whilst on CTD but not too much that it bothered me to be fair, just near got rid of it when the darned MM came back (was told December 5th) now on Velcade once per week subcutaneous and my iccle Dex, can just feel a slight change i my toes but not too much to bother so far, I do get fatigued but I rest when am early told by my body but do a fair bit of moving about on my feet long walks with the dog nice and steady ones.

    God Luck with your SCT

    Hi Maureen and Ian

As if Lol, we had a great time in Chester its a great place, am sure we didn’t rest as much as we would have done abroad and it was nearly as expensive.

We would go back to Chester as we both loved it

Hope you two are doing OK

    Hi Stanley

Good Luck in your treatment, I was on CDT in 2009 prior to SCT same year.

I was four years clear and drug free after my sct  but as i knew it would come back it has, now on Velcade forth block first session go every Monday for it.

Back to the CDT I had to go on sick half way through my Third block and was off work for one year, that took in my sct and recovery from that, its not a easy peasy but its a doable you just need to listen to your body and when it tells you to rest then rest.

Good Luck on your road to remission

    Hi Keith

Sorry you have been unwell Keith, I went through that when I had mine in 2009, even post SCT i was near bedridden for about a month, the young bride used to make me a pack up and flask for me when she went to work (in case i wanted to eat ) it took its time Keith to be honest but one morning I just woke up and felt OK and i mean OK just like I turned a corner during the nite 🙂 the dog knew and when the young bride came home she knew just looking at me It were great.

The above will come to you Keith in time I took it one day at a time never put pressure on myself just went with the flow.

Keith the Diarrhoea is one that will be with you for the longest am afraid as and when I started to eat properly I could not go everywhere till I went to the Loo,it calms down but I do know its in charge ha ha.

small tip for eating at home :::small plates with just a little on I used to nearly be sick when Elaine brought the food in as I could not face it, so Elaine brought it in in small plates so as not to over face me with it.

Good Luck in your road to remission its not complete yet but well over 3/4 done

    Hi eaglesham

sorry to hear about your dizzy spells yes I had them when I had CDT in 2009, and to be fair I had to go on sick leave halfway through my third cycle, I was then off for a full year that took me through my SCT and recovery of that.

it put me into remission for four years so I feel it was worth it that so I am doing it again but this time I am haveing Velcade and Dex once weekly, seems to be doing the trick.

stick with it my friend  it will up and down but a doable.
