    Hi David
I've removed all the posts and the account. We've had a few of these recently so I'll try and keep an eye on things.

    Hi Eve
Ananda at Myeloma Patients Europe has only just found time to get the video up on the web. She sent me a link to their website today. The sound quality is a bit off in some parts but I think this was their first attempt at doing a webinar.

    Hi Eve
I've asked Ananda at Myeloma Patients Europe if the video was recorded and she confirms it was. She's having a few problems converting it into a format she can put on the web but assures me she's going to try again over the weekend. Hopefully I'll have an update or a link I can post early next week.

    Hi David
The video is hosted on YouTube as it's a bit large to be adding as an attachment (about 100MB). The direct link to the YouTube video is http://youtu.be/4-2xw9efsuA

    Hi Min
The problem is these people will be based overseas and are virtually untraceable. They may not even be selling anything, just luring people onto a website loaded with viruses or trying to get details for identity theft.

The individuals doing this won't even be aware of who we are. They will have some system that scans the web for forums, they log in, copy and paste their message and move on to the next forum. One of the joys of being connected to the world!

I've set up a system that monitors our forum for certain words and sends me an email when suspected spam is posted. It's not fool proof but it should at least help me keep an eye on things.

    Cheers
    Stuart

    Hi Michele
Unfortunately the only way we could make this more secure is to manually approve every single person who wants to join the forum. Even then we would have no way of knowing if someone was going to post spam until they actually did it. These people set up email accounts, use them for a few days to spam and then just set up a new one. It's very frustrating but there's not a huge amount we can do apart from keeping our eyes peeled and deleting the accounts as they occur.

    Hope that helps,
    Stuart.

    Hi Folks
Thanks to you all for being on the ball, as per usual. I've deleted the spam messages and the user account responsible. Sadly there is no way to stop these people, if you can call them that. We have to allow people to register and post freely or the forum would be useless. The best we can do is keep our collective eyes peeled and report any abuse to myself and I'll get it knocked on the head. If you spot any more junk, email me at webteam@myeloma.org.uk.

    Cheers
    Stuart.

    Hi Jean
I have sent you a private message with my personal email address in it. Can you copy the entire contents of one of the bounce backs and send it to me please?

    Thanks
    Stuart.

    Hi Dai
I've tried a few things to replicate the problem and it may be that you were not signed in. For some reason the "Start discussion" button is showing up even when someone is not signed in (I will raise this with the website developers). Did you get the annoying CAPTCHA letters and numbers before you posted?

    Hi Jennifer
I have moved your post into its own thread as it was getting a bit lost way down in the other thread. Hopefully you should see some replies now.

    Hi Folks
It looks like the over sized picture problem has been fixed. I've tested in IE and Chrome browsers and all seems to be well again. If anyone is still experiencing the problem please let me know by posting here or sending me an email at webteam@myeloma.org.uk.

    Regards
    Stuart.

    Hi
It does seem to only be affecting newly uploaded images as far as I can tell. Our developers are looking into the problem and will hopefully have it sorted shortly.

In the mean time a little trick to see the text underneath a large image is to select all the text (hold down the ctrl key and press A, or select with the mouse).

I will re-post here once we have a proper solution in place.

    Sorry about this.
    Stuart.
