I have noticed the speed of the website fall over recent weeks as well. I've reported this problem to the developers so I'm hoping for a fix shortly.

Hi Folks,
After much deliberation we've added some categories and changed some others. It's quite difficult to get titles which will satisfy everyone but hopefully we have a good start. We've opted for "Off topic" for jokes, photos etc. anything not specifically about myeloma. We tried hard to think of an alternative but eventually settled for "Carers" as it's the term used in most of our literature.

This is by no means the end of our changes and tweaks so please keep the comments coming.

Hi David,
It's something we could set as a global setting, a bit like the threaded vs flat default setting. I will add your suggestion to the developer list as it's a good one. I'm pushing the developers to add more of the features you find on other forums and individual preferences for this sort of thing is high on my list.

Great suggestion, I've added a Newcomers heading and I'll be adding some quick guides shortly about registering and editing the profile photo. I guess we should have had these from the beginning.

Hi Jim,
We have a search functionality available but it's not working 100% so I've left it out for the moment. It should only search the discussion forums but currently it searches the entire website! I'm waiting on a fix from the developers, once I have it I will put a search box above each category and once above the entire forum. This will allow people to search within specific sections if they so desire.

Hi Dai, I have been in touch with Gill and fingers crossed we will see her posts in the very near future!

The problem has been with a couple of email clients (aol and btinternet) not liking our 'email verification' email..

I had a look at an example on aol yesterday and found the email in the spam folder. I haven't had a chance to look into btinternet just yet but will get there!

Hi Debs,
The automatic subject update was a mistake I'm afraid…but will return on Monday! The developers accidentally released a new version into the wild.

I've managed to grab all the old forum posts into a document so we're half way there on that front. Just need to find a way to put them into the new forum. Hopefully we can automate this as I don't fancy copying and pasting 1290 conversations by hand!!

Unfortunately that's not currently possible. We've been talking to the developers about customisation options, so each user of the site can set their own preferences. There are plans to develop the profile pages further so this is the kind of feedback we need, thank you.

Unfortunately it's not currently possible to change your username. We are keeping a list of suggestions to present to the guys who developed the underlying technology behind this site. I will add a suggestion for an option to display either your username or full name under your picture and see if there is any way we can change a username.

Hi Gaye,

No it's not you! It's us meddling again. We decided to default to the 'threaded' style as this allows you to reply to individuals or to the whole group. The reply button right at the bottom in the orange strip replies to the whole group. The reply underneath the individual message replies in the indented format.

As 'donalb' says you can choose which way you want it to work, this is just the default.
