Have read recently that the Cancer Drug Fund will be extended until 2016. For those that haven’t heard of it, it’s a fund that allows the NHS to prescribe certain cancer drugs before they have widespread approval.

Now there is an e-petition set up http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/64432. I would suggest the more people that respond to this e=petition the better chance we have of keeping it, especially as there is an election next year.

For more info the BBC did a piece September last year:

It is in your own interest I believe to sign the e=petition.

We don’t have the cancer drug fund in Scotland either and pomalidomide has been refused here. Hoping it will be passed as it will be Ian’s next treatment if revlimid fails.
