Hi Tina
I know I felt the same way about Slim,it seemed like you have had it get on with it,but who is in charge.
It hits you after a length of time in hospital, they do realise this, but I think everyone would agree you will make better progress at home.
I would say follow procedure extra cleaning, fresh towels plus being careful about food.Do not expect to bounce back it is not going to happen.Eat and drink what you can, always have a drink in front of you,Slim lived on milk, lots of small thing in fridge small portions to eat ,although me and the dog ate most of them.they were there if he wanted them Slim did not start gaining weight until last month, drinking is more important.
It is a good idea to keep checking temp when not feeling well, first sign of anything ring up,and go to A&E,best be safe than sorry, they can check your bloods,Slim was admitted twice,so it is worth going early if symptoms raise there ugly head.
In a few months time you will be looking back and thinking,I am through it now. Love Eve
Hi Tina
Welcome home:-)
All I can say is my Mum felt exactly the same as you when she came home. She got quite upset and down that she didnt seem to be making any progress. But little by little and week by week she got stronger. Things she used to eat before SCT she said felt all wrong in her mouth ie a sandwich. Wet foods were not appealing either such as a stew or spag bol. Once she found something she could eat she would have it every day! Shes eating all normal stuff now (3 months on) but perhaps not the same volume.
All clothing she wore in the hospital were thrown away when she got home, they were all an association with her hospital stay.
She also kept herself topped up with anti sickness, and if they are not working there are others you could try.
Keep at it Tina, like Eve says soon you will look back at this time and you will see how far you have come.

Hi Tina
Well I feel for you, I had all mine done Xmas 2009, that xmas and new year was a wipe out for me missed it all as I like you was being sick, couldnt eat and felt too weak to move some days. (and thats only what i can remember) as for the sickie thing I stayed on Anti Sick Pills for MONTHS to keep that at bay. and the food we aorked outthat if Elaine (the Young Bride) gave me small plates with a little of what I "Thought" I fancied then it worked as I didn't feel overfaced with the big (normal) plate of food.
Its a slow procces this healing lark Tina and dont forget you have gone through what would be "Major Surgery" even though you dont have great big scars, thats what you and the rest of us has gone through.
Sleap often (thats when you heal) and do a little bit of walking (away from big crouds) and wait as thats what it is a waiting game and one morning (like me) you will wake up and it will be 100% better, I was about two/three months post SCT before I felt better so stick with it.
Love and Hugs

Hi Tina,
Can't really give you any advice as we are in the thick of it, at the moment, however just wanted to give you a few words of encouragement. It must be so hard, but just focus on a day at a time. I find that less scary than thinking about months ahead. As all the others have said you will turn a corner!
Vicki 🙂
Hi Tina
You know I'd admire you for following the CDT with the Transplant. I know, from reading what others have experienced, that it won't be an easy time, but, if like with CDT, you mark off the weeks, I know you are going to come fine. What was your PP reading pre SCT?
I know one of the worse things with all this treatment is how food tastes, and lack of appitite. I do hope yours gets a bit better before Christmas.
Trouble is, now my appitite has come back I have put on weight so am going on a diet today with two of my neighbours. Seven weeks to Christmas so we are each hoping to lose a stone!
Lots of love.

Tina,
That's an absolute pleasure. I feel humbled by all you guys! I'm sat here with Colin in hospital. He's on the bad weekend before the neutrophils start to recover. He has a bit of a temperature so sleeping at minute. I'm sorry there's not much advice I can give you…..will probably be looking to you for advice when Colin comes home:-). But it's so important to support people and we just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you!

HI Tina, glad to hear that you have managed to get home again, well done!
I am waiting for my release, but am longing to be at home with my own 'stuff'!
I am really fussy about my food at present, but I would say stick with the things you fancy, a bit at a time. I love coke which seems to help the sickness, I can't taste much else, and I used find it helped with a hangover! (I wish!).
Hang in there and I am sure you will be feeling soon,
Regards,

Hi Tina
Good to hear you are home at last. Just have to take each day steadily now, lots of rest, gentle exercise and all you can eat and drink. Don't try to push yourself too much, your body has to do some serious mending now.
Love Helen
Hi Tina
That long and hard ride you are having will soon be a distant memory for you (mine is nearly lol)
Think if i am correct I was about two months post SCT before I woke up and turned that Corner to being Fixed and that I knew I just felt "Fixed" 😎
Keep Well Tina and it wont be long now before you are "Up and At Em"
