Yesterday we were in the sad position to say goodbye to Keith for the last time. The service for Keith was well attended by family, friends, fellow MM'ers, carers and medical staff. It was a good service and we heard all about Keith's history from childhood to the days myeloma entered his life. He was a very passionate man and put his heart into everything he did.
Work? He got stuck in and was quickly rewarded with promotions. Sport? He was a big Sunderland supporter and a cricket and golf enthusiast. Holidays? He would love nothing better than spend time in Jersey. Hobbies? When MM stopped him playing golf he took up photography with his usual passion and became a skilled photographer. Helping others? As you all know he was very active on this forum helping and giving advice to anyone in need and he was the same at our local support group. He was very knowledgable about the latest developments and research and wasn't shy about sharing his opinions. Love? What shone throughout the service yesterday was his absolute love for Sue his wife and soul mate. He was devoted to her. I know when the sadness begins to ease Sue will be able to look back at their life together and reflect that they had something really special.
At the end of the service it was time to say goodbye.
Goodbye Keith it was a pleasure to know you even for a short while.
Rest in peace.
