Hi All,
Just back from our trip down the Rhine/Mosel and popped in to say hallo. We returned late Wednesday night and are spending Thursday and Friday sorting out clothes and garden getting ready for the next trip which is a week?s holiday with all my family at St Ives, which starts Saturday!
The cruise trip was excellent. My first ever River Cruise, in fact my first ever cruise full stop! I really recommend it. Plenty of room in the cabins, I had imagined it as being very small. We had wall mounted single beds which folded down, they were very comfortable, and, even then, you could still swing a large cat around! I searched around for the Ship?s cat to try it but he had gone into hiding! The food was excellent and the service superb, 5*. More expensive rooms had a double bed. The only down side was the ship bar was very expensive. Water was £3.20 a litre bottle (we have to drink 3 litres a day min so that works out at £9.60 a day times 10 days equals £96!!!! ? and no you cannot drink the tap water). Fortunately we stopped every day at a different destination and I was able to buy it ashore at .75 p a litre. The Weather was ok, not brilliant sunshine, but mild and very little rain. In the past Mo and I have driven through the area many times and it was a real memory lane without the stress of finding accommodation etc… There were a couple of disabled people on board and they catered for them very well.
The icing on the cake for us that the original trip cost £895 each, just before I had to pay the holiday balance I noticed on the internet that they had reduced the price to £450 each, clearly trying to fill empty cabins. So I cancelled my original booking ? lost deposit of £50 – and rebooked under the new price. So my cost was £500 each a saving of nearly £400 each! It ?made my day? I can tell you.
Personally I feel great, just like you did Dai, bags of energy and no pain. Unlike you Dai my consultant has warned me that my PPs will start to rise in the (near?) future. But I will worry about that on the 1st Oct when I have my next blood test and appointment.
My best wishes to you all and I will pop in for a chat when I come back from St Ives.
Kindest regards ? Vasbyte
David
