I have not been on here for a long time, because of things being so hectic with Stephen's mm and other stuff, and have not yet caught up with any posts so please forgive me for just posting about me and mine

Stephen was supposed to go in for a second transplant on the 24th May I took him to Kings College Hospital and got a phone call the following day saying "come and get me"

He had had a bad cold, throat etc a week or so before going in and, worried that he would not get into Kings, had visited the Practice Nurse at our GPs She gave him a prescription for anti biotics just in case (they don't prescribe anti biotics for those of us that are healthy but do take a "just in case" policy with people that have certin illnesses)

One of the side effects of anti biotics can be diarrhoea. When questioned at Kings about his general health etc he mentioned the cold and diarrhoea and was discharged straight away.

After poo tests etc (too much information 😛 ) he was given the all clear and we arrived at Kings on bank holiday Monday (30th??). He is one week in and feeling not too good. He seems to be finding it harder this time. He was in the very lucky position last time that the drugs had put him into remission. This time his mm was up and biting his bum when he went into Kings.

I will catch up with other people's progress within the next few days but for now thank you for listening to my moans Gill xxx

PS What is the correct spelling of illlnesssesss:-)

Hi Gill,

I am sorry that Stephen is having it so rough this time… what current treatment is he receiving for his ilnesses. I presume he is in for his 2nd SCT so I hope that he at least matches the last remission. Please keep in touch, I'm rooting and tooting for the both of you big time.

Much love xxx

Hi Gill,
I was wondering where you had got to and this explains why we had not heard from you for a while.
I hope Stephen starts to pick up soon, I know how difficult it is to watch them feeling so poorly. Peter had his 1st GCF injection today following mega melphalan last friday and felt rather sickly for a few days but has not been too ill so far.
I think its hard to remember how it was last time as the memory makes you forget the bad bits. Make sure he keeps topped up on sicky tablets.
Give him our love best wishes for a swift recovery
Love Min

Hi Gill and Stephen

Sorry to read Stephen is a bit rough :-/
Yes its a great thing how we forget what we went through on the first lot of treatment, but we did it, I am fortunate enough not to need a 2nd one (touch wood) but I can understand Stephen's and others trepidation when it hit them:-(

Good Luck to you both love and hugs sent8-)
