Good morning David,
I remember this stage well – waiting to bottom out (most like Tuesday or Wednesday) followed by the 'interesting' plateau for a few days before the magical 0.01. Once they consider you have reached the plateau you will be woken up each morning for blood samples (a bit optimistic for the first four or five days but you never know, some of us respond quickly).
The good thing is, each day that you wake up brings you one day closer to going home… and while that sounds obvious it is also inevitable – everything else just has to be endured (its a bit like getting the Flu, once it settles in its just a matter of battening down the hatches, taking/doing whatever it takes to ease the passage and then waiting for things to turn around).
You sound as if you are well set up, with everything and everyone in place to get you kickstarted and out on the road to recovery. I have no doubts whatsoever that you have the wherewithal and positivity be able to get through the plateau, safely and stoically… for everything else there is always the 'MY' gang.
Lie back and think of England (not my choice but each to their own :-D)
Dai.
Thanks for the support Guys and Girls. I think you are right Dai, Tuesday/Wednesday. There are 12 other patients here, one other myeloma, all having Chemo/ Stem Cells etc and everybody else is already in the Drop Phase. As you say everybody is different. Thanks however for the heads up about "ambushes" I shall keep alert.
I have Bloods taken out of me every day and have done since my arrival. They measure/test absolutely everything from Urine to breathing pattern. I had a pain in my chest and within minutes I was on a monitor and masses of paper readings being produced. Doctors and /or Consultant visit every day! My consultant Dr B***** said ?we will get you through this do not worry? and boy did he mean it!
afternoon david

Hi David,
You might not feel up to or inclined for much blogging at the moment but we are still here, still rooting, still waiting while the clock slowly moves forward, ticking off the seconds and minutes, hours and days – tick, tock, tick, tock… then root will turn to toot 😎 and tick, tock will turn to tickety boo! >:-)
Soon, sooner, soonest.

Evening David glad to hear today hasnt been too awful You are certainly in the right place though its sooooo cold out here !!And blooming icy too Found mydelf walking on the pavement like a ballerina with a bowel problem !!Not very graceful but I really dont fancy breaking any bones Save the ward party for later love Bridget x
Dear David – It was my intention to post to you but having just read about Bridget's latest escapades – a proposed Indian sun dance in Luton and walking in the snow like a ballerina with a bowel problem (and the bowel problem is probably not one you wish to discuss right now!) I was thrown off course, but have now happily composed myself!
So sorry you are now feeling not great at the moment. It's a place where all of us who have had an SCT know so well, and some of us liked it so much we went back for a second time – I even know someone who has gone through it three times! Seriously it is not the most pleasant time but you will get through it soon and we look forward to when you want to start blogging again. You are very much in my thoughts David – get well soon!
Love, Gaye x
Dear David,
I hope the rest of your time in hospital goes well. When I was at your stage of the transplant my brain began to shut down and I was only able to do the last thing to go – that is talk on the phone, of course!
Am including a photo I took today of our railway station house in Scotland. It's as cold as it looks outside, though inside it's toasty warm.

Hi David
Just to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as are everyone else's.
One thing about "down", the only way is "up" and from evrything of yours I have read, I know your strength of character will get you there in time.
Till then, let all our positive thoughts help carry you and yours.
Very best wishes.
Mavis
Thanks everybody day 10/11 up. like a ballerina with a bowel problem now that is one hell of a descriptive phrase 😀 😀 Loved the photo Eva.
Hi David
Well, six is more than half way up. And as you say, it's important to be honest with yourself and knid to yourself when, naturally you will be feeling sorry for yourself.
Shame I can't be paying you to loose some weight for me! Enjoy the toast. It was the treat of the day when i was first admitted to my local hospital. The only decent food I got all day. When I moved to Leeds GI they didn't run to it!! I really misssed it.
Knw we all continue to route for you and look forward to more posts when you are upto it.
Blessings.
Mavis
😀 day 12 up for all my readers:-D
