Hello once more from Val.   peter has been taken off Velcade due to very severe neuropathy. For the past few weeks. Yesterday he saw 2nd in command, she told him that they would work out an alternative, so no chemo at the moment! She also said his paraproteins were down to 10. Then she said they wanted to get his figures down and move on to the next stage and transfer him to UCH. We don’t want UCH it’s too difficult in Central London with no parking.

he told her we wanted the Royal Marsden in Sutton., she was surprised and said that they  don’t have a specialist Myeloma dept.   We have requested a transfer there asap and it was never mentioned. Need some advice please on both issues, alternative treatments and choice of hospital. Many thanks to whoever replies, please do as I’m not in the UK at the moment and need t0 find out.

    Hi there,

absolutely NOT true….. There is a dedicated haemotology department that has myeloma clinics on a Tuesday and Thursday.  I personally wouldn’t be at another hospital…. Their care is fantastic!..
