Hi Tina,
Hope you enjoy your break. Colin had his Hickman line fitted recently and he has got on ok with it. We had a bit of a false start with the stem cell harvest, first one failed, but apparently very common that happens. He is having cyclphosmhide cycle priming today and ready for gcsf injections next week. Then harvest again 3/4…[Read more]

Thanks so much. No he is just in for the day we are told. Fingers crossed, and thanks for thinking of us. Not sure what he is dreading most….the chemo or me doing some DIY painting the porch (not my strongest skill, wanting it all done yesterday is my problem!).
Hope you have a great day and your mums doing well, will keep you…[Read more]

Hi Pete and ann,
Glad the appointment went well and the blood counts playing ball. Like you say if they don't seem too worried about the swelling then I'd try to reassure yourself that it's ok. I hope they can do something for Peres back pain. Colin does get it occasionally, even with the painkillers. Colin was a bit fed up as when they measured…[Read more]

Welcome! My partner Colin was diagnosed in October 2011 following a random blood test and a bad back. Colin and I were completely shocked because until that time we had never heard of this condition!. He was 55 then and I am 45. The good news once we came to terms a little bit with what we had heard was 7 cycles of cyclophpmasmahide,…[Read more]

No news on the funding, we think that it is very unlikely. We will know what the next plan is when we go to the hospital on Monday 20th. We aren't sure what this appointment in for though a the pa wasn't sure when we asked! We are assuming it's to tell us when the next harvest dates are…..hopefully.
