Hi Vicki and Colin
Just checking in to see how everything is going. All to plan so it seems. There was no big announcement when my Mum reached 0, but I remember asking on here about them rising and Helen replied that they do rise pretty quickly when they start going up.
You really must give yourself a break, as you will still need some energy when Colin comes home, and just think – nearly a week has gone so far:-)

Hi Vicky and Colin
Just thinking about you two. Glad you mananged to get a bed after the shaky start (thats all you needed). Hopefully, Colin will be a lucky one and sail through with hardly any side effects. I remember Tom saying, its all doable. You have both got to grit your teeth. Is it a long drive home for you Vicky?.
I blame my Mum for my grey hairs, just as she blames me for hers lol.
Take care

Hi David,

Hi Vikki and Colin
So, this is it then, the next hurdle:-) Wishing you all the very best for your SCT Colin, and hope that its an uneventful one. You can do it!.
Vikki, remember to take care of yourself too, its exhausting mentally and physically. Please keep in touch if you have the time and energy. I will be thinking of you both.
Much love Ali xx
Hi Chris
Good to hear from you. Glad things are running smoothly for you except for the headache and rattling. Im saving Dallas for Saturday night when my Hubby goes out, but you have not spoilt it for me – im hoping its not the last one in the series. The beauty of sky+, no adverts.
Keep your spirits up and remember you will be home soon – you can do it!

Hi Andy
The hol sounds fantastic, just nice to chill out. I bet you have made some friends there over the years. My favourite Greek food has to be Stifado.
What you say is right, cant live life in a bubble. My Mum and Dad cannot wait to get away abroad. I think anywhere would do, but they will have to wait a while yet. We are all planning a family holiday next year, which I am looking forward to, and again anywhere warm will do as long as we are together 🙂

Hi Vikki
Yes, deffo check with the hospital re dates, just to make sure. Its been horrible and murky here in Nottinghamshire too, for once I didnt mind being at work! Enjoy your meal with your friends, wont be long now until you can start putting all this behind you.:-) Will you start a new thread when Colin goes in? scrolling down to the bottom takes an age!.
When the man coughed directly behind us at the show – well, I turned around and if looks could kill! and I kept on turning around! It didnt stop him though, poor chap. Shes alot better now thanks, just an ordinary stomach bug. I can laugh abit now as I did over react somewhat!

Hi Andy
I thought a donor for the transplant had to be a sibling? Its amazing they have found a close match in America. Theres sure to be one close to home. I wonder how does one go about donating stem cells?
Until you get your match, just keep on giving this MM a run for its money.
Hope you are finally getting over your infections and feeling a bit better:-)

Hey Chris
Just wishing you the very best of luck. Hoping it all runs to plan and you have a very uneventful stay at Musgrove:-)
I cant wait for Dallas either, that John Ross is just as bad as his Dad:-0 I love it!
Keep your spirits up – you can do this.
Love Ali xx (and im sending also a germ free hug)
Thanks Helen and Andy for your words, and I know you are both right. Its just all such a worry. Mum just wants to carry on as normal, I just want her to be well.
Sitting by the pool and reading seems like a mighty fine holiday to me Andy:-) Where to next in Greece?
Its nice to hear that you two get to meet each other for a chat and a coffee:-)

Hi Polly
My Mum (aged 57 at diagnosis last Nov) is on the Myeloma 11 trial. She had 6 cycles of RCD and SCT in August this year. She wasnt given anything to prevent clots and unfortunately developed 2 along the way. She now injects Clexane every evening, which she doesnt have a problem with. Except she wont be wearing a bikini anytime soon as her tummy is full of bruises – not that she would wear a bikini anyway! My Mum coped really well with her treatment, she feared it would be lots worse than it actually was. Its the fear of the unknown.
Good luck with it all and keep in touch.

Hi Vikki
The show was fantastic! When I booked it earlier on in the year I didnt know how Mum would be fixed for going ( I even paid insurance on the tickets just in case she was poorly). I wanted us both to have something to look forward to, just Mum and Daughter. Anyway we took our seats in the arena and then it started, the coughing. Oh my goodness, thats all I could hear and I kept thinking about the germs. Mum put a tissue over her nose and mouth discreetly, but eventually resorted to holding a mask over. I cant believe how stupid I was taking her into such a crowded place, I hate the fact that we now have to think of these things. She now has a sickness bug and I cant help thinking that its all my fault:-( Sorry for off loading like this.
Thats right fill Colin up, crumble sounds lovely its my favourite.
