    Hi Tom,

Glad it went ok for you, how’s Elaine doing from one carer to another as I suspect kevs a lot like you and I try to keep everything normal whilst watching him like a hawk, and those dex days ooh! Even I’ve started staying awake all night and end up on tea duties, LOL!

Take care both of you and keep well

    Hello Mandy,

Sorry to hear your remission was only a few weeks , I’m a carer for my husband kev who got six months remission which was truly devastating at the time, kev said he knew something was wrong for a while before it was confirmed. That was over a year ago and after another relapse with velcade he is now been on revlimid and dex for a year now and yesterday was told he is stable and he’s feeling good, so Mandy I hope everything goes well for you with your consult: and you get the best treatment in this your next stage, take care, keep well.

    hi Tom,

hope all goes well monday, kev had velcade/dex sub cut: twice weekly into his stomach
he got very good results zapping his lights chains very quick but the P/neuropthy got really bad and they cut it down to half so do mention it if it starts as they can control it and stop any damage setting in, but I’m sure you’ll be vigilant tom and get many more years free of this bloody decease! keep smiling!

    Hi Tom,
Welcome back glad you had a nice break, as I’ve told jean we only want to go to mainland Spain (two hours away) so we’re thinking the same as you? It’s me that’s worrying kev would go tomorrow if he could, I’m going to try a couple that jeans suggested.

Ps Tom has your new treatment been sorted?

    Hi jean,

Thanx for that I will certainly look into the two you’ve mentioned,
When I tried to get insurance for kev last year as soon as I put that he was on strong pain relieve they refused him, I’m wondering weather to mention it next time?
I always feel its best to be honest in these matters, but then kev says we’re only going to mainland Spain (two hour flight away) him meaning it’s not that far to get back quickly if need be, I’m not convinced!

As for the new site Stuarts got his work cut out with all the teething problems! I can’t edit at all everything just disappears! But I did manage to finally put a photo on although I changed the the first one it was horrible of me! lol

    Hi Tina,

Sorry to hear you were unwell especially over Xmas, kev seemed to get pnueamonia quite a lot last year, they’ve now put him on regular antibiotics which seems to have done the trick!
Glad they got on top of yours quickly and you continue to keep well!

A happy & continued good health for 2014.

    Hello Lesley,

I’m a carer for my husband kev and I did a coffee morning in November just gone, have you requested the myeloma pack from this forum? I got some amazing merchandise to help with the day, the pack also contained some cake recipes, what I also did was just put cake recipes into search and your spoilt for choice! I raised £230 with friends & family had a lovely day.

Hope your fund raising day goes well it’s so worth while, good luck!

    Hi Andy,

I see revlimid as come to an end, I hope the new treatment works for you and you and Steph continue enjoying your trips in 2014! I was wondering if there’s anyone on the forum also on this drug pomolidamide? Kev is on cycle 13 of revlimid and in the beginning had a rough ride with various side effects, he now seems to have settled down but his last lights chains had risen slightly from 10 to 15 but the drs seemed unconcerned, I’m hoping this is just a blip,
Hence the reason I’m curious about pomolidamide.

Happy new year to you Andy and Steph

    Hi Andy,

Just trying to catch up with posts as I’ve not been onto the forum for awhile a lot of changes and my iPad doesn’t like the new look site? But hopefully the web team will sort it.
I was interested to see you are on cycle 22 here’s hoping it carries on doing good and you get to 24! Kevs only half way but hopefully settled into it now they’ve sorted the chest infections, keep well and have a good Xmas!

    Love liz & kev xx
