    Hi all,

LOL!:-) it made me laugh reading these last few posts, vicki it's great to hear Colin's doing tai chi, kevs just trying to walk down to the bottom of the street without having to sit on someone's wall for a rest! That's his goal to get there and back without taking a break? I think they need all the encouragement to take these steps, Colin doing this so soon after sct is brilliant ! And Tom your proof it can be do-able! Bet Elaine is so proud, keep well all.

    Hi Keith,

Sorry to hear you've had a bad week kev was actually just like that three weeks ago and I was willing him to fight it ( pnueamonia) but this last week he's been feeling great and so upbeat UNTIL this morning! Crashed down big style it's so frustrating for him, he's gone so weak and the pain has kicked in from the radiotherapy he had couple of weeks ago,
I hope you get some respite from feeling like this Keith and the weather hurries up and turns soon me & kev are counting the weeks down get rid of February and we've only got march 😎 and hey here comes the sun!!
Failing that the Maldives or Cape Verde would do nicely. Hope all goes well at clinic tues: take care!

Keep well love liz & kev xx

    Hello dan,

What a time you are a all having, I do hope they get your dads back & legs sorted soon, I bet he's looking forward to seeing your sisters you too for that matter, anyway dan let me introduce myself my names liz and care for hubby kev he was diagnosed with MM aug: 2010 also with fractured sternum and ribs after treatment CDT went on to have a SCT April 2011 which resulted in complete remission sept:2011 but sadly relapsed April 2012 he was put on velcade/ dex but they discovered 3 vertabrae collapsed and a tumor on the top of his spine they too wouldn't do anything till they finished the velcade.
He had all eight treatments albeit the last two were reduced because of PN in his feet (very painful) after two MRIs we are still waiting to hear what they are going to do? The velcade didn't do the job in the end and is now on revlimid / dex, kev did have some radiotherapy two weeks ago to zap his ribs and fingers crossed its worked! Kevs had a few infections that have put him in hospital the last one being pnueamonia just three weeks ago but he's doing well now and feeling the best he's done for a while, so hopefully next clinic we'll have a decision on his back.

Keep well dan and give your dad our best

    Love liz & kev xx

    Hi Tom, vicki &colin,

I was just thinking the same Gas & Air! I didn't go in with kev for his BMB but he only had local, it must be a Northern thing? 🙂 LOL! Hope Colin's ok now after his tumble? I'm like a mother hen when kevs out and about and the last few weeks he's not done much but it is a worry with the bone damage and how fragile they are. Glad you managed to get to the hospital through all the snow (what snow?) woke up Sunday not a trace!

As for you Tom doing 40 hours well done you but it must be very tireing , kevs not working and can't see him doing so anytime soon, we're trying to work out a little excercise routine to build up his strength :-/ he's says I'm nagging! Don't know what he's talking about?:-)

Take care love liz & kev xx

    Hi eve,
We're just getting ready to go to clinic this morning, kev had 8 cycles velcade/ dex last three were reduced because of PN quite bad in his feet, then was told its not working anymore so went straight onto rev/dex 3rd cycle this week. He's got three vertabrae crumbling and a lot of bone damage to his ribs. Three hospital stays since nov: 2012 the latest pneumonia but it looks like they've got it sorted fingers crossed, he his down for radiotherapy on ribs in the coming weeks and the spinal unit is deciding what to do about his back? So all in all he's pretty Pd off at the moment so as hard as it is I'm trying to keep things normal if that is possible.

Will report back on how clinic goes today

    Love liz & kev xx

    Hi all,

Kev takes dex 40mg once a week 8.am doesn't sleep the first night grumpy old man for a couple of days,
But then the crash! And we both dread it, I also think it masks a lot of his infections he's been having as they
Appear about the fourth day off dex! It's good in some ways not in others!!

Dexatude! I think it should be in the dictionary?

Keep well liz & kev xx

    Hello Dai,

Sorry just seen your reply, kev is home so I've been busy settling in at home and he'd probably call it fussing!
I agree with what you are saying and after treating kev with what seemed every antibiotic they had I'm hoping they've
Finally beat it. We are in clinic tomorrow so we've got a long list of questions and to begin his third cycle of rev/dex.

I will post update tomorrow, take care love liz & kev xx
