If anyone can do it your the man π I know how you feel when you see your consultant looking at the screen and you notice the odd twitching.

It will be a tough few days, but for me the waiting is the worst. Once you know what is happening at least you can start to deal with it. HB is haemoglobin which makes the red blood cells which carry oxygen around the body. It fell and I was exhausted. My consultant said 'it proves to me you cannot make healthy blood and we have to start…[Read more]

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know I saw my consultant Monday and it all looked grim. She said my SCT was a disappointment. My last 3 PP results were 16, 18 and 22. Good news was she believed my bone/joint pain was rheumatoid arthritis and she wanted to get that under control as I am in so much pain, but she did not have the results of the…[Read more]

Hi Dai I do wish you all the very best. When I was speaking to my consultant on Monday she was telling me about a new trial (did not take in the name) and she was so excited about it. It gave me hope that if I did need it I was more than happy to try it. Do let us know what you are randomised too. Kay x

Hi Amelie I had my SCT in September and my PP has risen for the last 3 blood tests, but my consultant said she is not worried due to my HB rising consistently. When I had to have treatment it was because I became anaemic and that is what they will look for rather than rising PP. Myeloma is so so different for everybody. I do wish you both all the…[Read more]

Hi Dai
Just been looking at a site about the trials, sounds very interesting you better hurry up with that 24 hr bottle,as I got the impression that it,s only 700 per country.
Those big bottles get heavy, cannot tell you how many Slim has filled plus they are heavy to carry any distance,so as well as the brown bag it pays to use a couple of…[Read more]

Hi Amelie,
I officially relapsed 10 months into my SCT remission and 12 weeks into my Velcade remission… and both times I 'knew'… although to be fair I gave this latter a 50/50 chance. Yes there were niggles but then again there are always niggles. For me it was more my 'Goodbut' principle… i.e. I felt good… but knew that I should…[Read more]

My sister phoned me with the news that one of our childhood neighbours and friends passed yesterday.
Yvonne was the same age as my sister, 3 years older than me and has been like a surrogate sister for most of my life. I was with her in September last and we compared notes (hers a brain tumour). She was a quietly witty and intelligent lady…[Read more]

Thank you for your support. As usual, now that I know what I have to do I feel better equipped to deal with the disappointment and move on with as much fire and grace as I can muster.
This is a great board and I love it and all who frequent it muchly. π

Hi Gina
What is a fright night ????
Glad to see you are getting on with your lives,it,s hard but it is what your mum would have wished, remember you have good memories there, and that is important,i found the worst thing in the early years was wanting to pick up the phone to tell my mum some news, that,s what I found hard.
