  • Well I hope they sort you out Dia. It must be really debilitating.

I am having one of my rare, nowadays anyway, sleepless nights; I had a kip early on this afternoon which is unusual for me nowadays as I am always so busy. So I think that is the culprit.

Anyway, chin up buddy I am sure you can beat this, you have everything else that…[Read more]

  • Hi Chris, I could not agree with you more, the facilities and Staff at the Beacon Centre are first class.

I wish you the very best of luck with your Harvest, I had to have two goes at it. At the first I only got something like 1.4 mil although I cannot remember the number exactly. I managed to get 2.4, in total, from the second harvest. I…[Read more]

  • Welcome Michele.

Your good news is good to hear and being positive is definitely the right attitude. Since my diagnosis in Jul 2009 my wife and I have taken the absolute maximum out of every hour, it sounds as if you are doing the same.

I look forward to hearing more from you. Got to go I am helping sorting out all the "Junk" we have…[Read more]

Hi Trish, I had my SCT in Dec 2010 and I have not had any re-vaccinations, not even for travel abroad.

As a point of interest I was told to be wary of animals in general and not to touch them. Not sure how long this quarantine was meant to go on for but even now as a rule I do not touch stray animals.

Keep going buddy just keep going.

I took up Tom's idea of using 6 x 500ml bottles. I fill them up every morning, then I can see where I am with fluid intake, also it silently nags you to "get them down".

  • We are blessed with seven Grandchildren, now ranging from 8 years to 18. Every now and again I see a mannerism, voice inflection or attitude that I recognise as my own or my wife?s and I know that a little piece of us has passed on to our grandchildren. It has been so rewarding watching them grow up. Enjoy!

  • That is a good idea Helen but I do not think I will have the time to sort it all out. Just about every month we are away somewhere, this month is the Scilly Isle next month Minorca and so on. But I might adapt it somehow.

  • Thanks for the suggestions Girls. Nothing from the Boys but ahh well!

We actually renewed our vows on our 35th. I wanted to do it on our 25th but the wife is not a romantic like me 🙁

However, for our 35th I add a holiday in Singapore, Seychelles and Mauritius. We had the four original bridesmaids; they could not get into their dresses…[Read more]

  • It is a very good idea and in fact I had the Myeloma UK diary but it fell by the wayside I am afriad. I do wish I had the ability to keep a diary. I have tried many times in my life but I am just not "clerical". Give me a hammer and screwdriver and I am ok but a pen makes me shudder.

  • I would really love to join you Dai but I have a funeral to attend in Barnstaple and I shall be getting ready or making my way there then.

Dia has hit the important questions I think. However it depends on how hard you want to bite the bullet.

I insisted, and I mean insisted, on a Prognosis right from the very start. "If all goes well 2 to 3 years" I was told in July 2009. The question I would be asking is what treatments are now available to me and what is the prognosis if…[Read more]
