Stephen would have been incredibly proud of you I have no doubt. Do you still have the Red Tractor or am I getting confused again, which is happening a lot lately?

I think the poem is great and have pinched it. I have a file of Funeral ideas for my children and I would like my youngest Granddaughter (she is 10 at the moment to read it for her Nanny. (Nanny does not know this – πŸ˜€ )

No, I do not intend to use my coffin for some time yet.

My kindest regards Gill – vasbyte

Sometimes I find the "rotation Doctor", as you put it Dai, is better than the real thing πŸ˜€ , the one you ran into was certainly on the ball. They tend, in my experience, to be a lot keener to listen and try out there Medical Skills. I certainly have had cause to thank the "rotation Doctor".

I will follow your Tooth with interest πŸ˜‰ . I do not have a dental problem yet, but I have a chipped tooth, no nuts for me, and I am conscious of the problems it might cause me in the near future.

Kindest regards – vasbyte (but not to hard in our case πŸ˜€ )

Hi all thanks for the info.

    Stuart we are staying at:

    56140 RUFFIAC
    France

Thanks Tom that was very helpful.

As I see it Eve I am 126 miles (a couple of hours drive) from the Roscoff Ferry terminal. I am going with my son and his fiancΓ©, who happens to be a Doctor. We have two cars and 4 drivers. Both Myeloma and Prostate consultants and my doctor have agreed I am fit to go and none of them expect anything to happen in their particular specialities. So my family has agreed that we should take a flyer and if the worst happens we will sort it out then 8-). However, this experience has altered my view of going to Greece in Sep/Oct which is a great shame πŸ™

Just saw the "Sawbones" and apparently for one week in France I jut need a printout of my current medication, which the receptionist will do prior to departure on the 23rd.

Found this NHS site which you might find useful: http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2593.aspx?CategoryID=70&SubCategoryID=175

Or just type in http://www.nhs.uk will get you to the home page.

I concur with the advice given. It does no harm to speak to the hospital or our Myeloma Nurse. I would definitely seek advice.

Hi Tracey, Sorry you have had to join our site, but you will find we are a friendly helpful bunch. πŸ˜€

This is an excellent site and there is bags of information on it. Plus there is a resident MyelomaUK nurse that you can ring, for free, and talk too. At this stage I think you would be well advised to contact her first. The free phone number is 0800 980 3332. You will find she is very helpful and approachable.

It all depends on where you are going as Eve highlighted.

Greece is in the EU but would you really go to Cos with no insurance? However popping across the channel to France might be no big deal.

Personally, I have always been a belt and braces man myself. I am going to France 150 miles south of Roscoff on the 23rd Aug 2013 and I shall be taking out Insurance. My main concern is to ensure that I do not leave my wife with a bill to pay if I have a bad accident and need to be brought back to England.

Welcome home Tom. I assume you have been told about avoiding infection and all the steps you should take to ensure you do not rapidly end up back in hospital. Please take them very seriously for the next 3 months at least.;-)

Hi Eve, where did you get this from:
That's Velcade for you, they say,if your Myeloma has not been reduced by half, the NHS do not have to pay for it!!!!,may be that's why they are taking people off it !!!! Saves money.
Hi Jean, I have just been pulled off Velcade, see my posts under treatment, and I was told by the Consultant that I would move onto 3rd line treatment Revlimid (not sure how you spell that)when it became necessary. My PPs started at 17 went down to 8.1 and then up to 8.4 I was pulled off at this point. I do have bad PN in both legs now, did not have it before Velcade, and this and the fact that my PPs had not gone down were sited as the reason.

    Kindest regards – vasbyte

    David
