My sincere condolences to you, no doubt you have some good memories of your Dad ? keep hold of them. From what you say at least he did not suffer the trials of this awful decease.

May your God walk with you at this difficult time.

    Congratulations to all concerned.

We have 7 Grandchildren, 9 to 19, and they have been a great source of love, fun and amusement over the years. I never knew my parents/grandparents, the war, and It has been a great source of love and comfort to me to re-establish my family. My oldest Grandchild is now 19 and the first one to fly the nest and set up a home of her own. We have been so blessed with a loving family I hope you are too.

Hi Lesley, I have not been on this trial but several of our regulars are on it and I am sure they will give you chapter and verse shortly.

All the very best of luck

Hi Wendy, I am in the same boat as you although I am PPs and not Kappa. My SCT lasted 2 years which is 6 months longer than predicted at the time.

I have gone from 3.5 to 6.7 but it was over 3 months. I have now been given a 2 month appointment, 22 Feb 13, to see what is happening. The Consultant's letter to my GP indicated that I am relapsing and he expects the PP measurement to go higher but at present time no Chemo intervention is necessary. The rest of my blood measurements were excellent.

Fingers crossed time I think 😀

Hi Sarah Jane, The ones I monitor for my own piece of mind are:

    WBC – White Blood Count Mine 7.9 range for a male 4.2 – 10.8
    HB – Haemoglobin Mine 13.1 range for a male 13.5 – 17.5
    Plts – Platelets Mine 300 range for a male 150 – 400
N – Neutrophils forgot to get this one

PP – Paraprotiens wished for ZERO mine 6.7 (up 3.2 in 3 months)

This will give you some idea

p.s I should add that it is the measurement of these indicators over a period that give the real picture not one off happy snaps.

I have just caught up with this post and I like Mavis take my hat off to people who go on the trials. There would be no progression if we all opted out and as such these "trialers" have giving unnumbered people a longer and probably happier life. I am too old for any trials but would have taken that course if it had been offered.

With regard to the old bones, I take Loron, Zometas equivalent I think, I have been taking two tablets every day since July 2009. I was warned that I must not put my bones at risk by doing anything that involved pounding, such as running. On Christmas Day I had a nasty fall. Went to Casualty and had an ex-ray only to be told my bones are fine ? badly torn muscles only. So it must be doing something 😀

Stephen was right. I know my Mo will be sad when I have gone but, like Stephen I suspect, I do not want her to do a "Queen Victoria". I have said to her and my children she must enjoy the rest of her life and if that means having a good laugh two days after I am pushing up the daisies so be it have that good laugh. Make Stephen happy.

"Here's Looking at You Kid", I tried doing a Bogey but my wife just grimaced and suggested I switch on the telly. Yes, Casablanca, I think you are right.

I was just joking about the coffin:-D . It is in bits at the moment in my workshop. I have finished a mock up of one side with the rope handles and pictures but it is not stained at the moment. I have to finish all the sides before can I re-assemble, I will attach a photo for you Tom sometime today so you can see where I am going with it…

You know you lot are like having your own personal Ra Ra troupe. I half expect you all too come dancing out of the screen. I can just picture Tom in a Blue sequinned Tutu with red pom poms. Ye Gods :-0 I am going to have to watch this Hormone Therapy treatment if that is the state of my mind.

Kindest regards to you all ? vasbyte

Pictures attached: I assembled this to check design and you can see at the moment one of the handles comes out of my daughters head so a picture with a different layout is being produced. The pictures have been done by my son. One shows me off Bermuda in 1973 and the other is my Daughter as a 3 year old in Tiger Balm Gardens Singapore.
