Gill, why not have a chat with the MyelomaUK nurse. She may well have information about the trial and could perhaps give you some questions to ask before you 'phone your Consultant.
    kindest regards

Shirley, I use TalkTalk and found that I could use the Internet OK and this site etc… . But, my email programme would receive email but it would not let me SEND email. This is down to TalkTalk blocking you sending unless you use a TalkTalk line. I believe several other internet providers do the same. If you are technical person you could alter the SMPT setting but it is not something I would advise.

If you have a HOTMAIL account you are OK, you can send and receive. I have now set up Gmail (GOOGLE – hotmail). HOWEVER, I did it whilst in the ward and I cannot transfer my email addresses from TalkTalk to Gmail for the same reason as above, so I have to type in the email addresses to GMAIL that I want to use. So my tip is to set up your Hotmail account and transfer any email address BEFORE you go in if you think you might need it.

Yes Bridget it is about as British as you can get. No American would put up with it – polite or not:-D
I had a similar experience yesterday. A nurse who has just returned from 2 weeks sickness was clearly not fit for work. There was a complete mix up on my pills. It was sorted by the next nurse on shift and no damage was done. However, it worried me as I am just about to go into the worst part of an SCT. She was so nice I just felt could not make a fuss about it plus she will not be on shift when my bloods go down, down, down 🙂

I will ask Denise, who has been working in ward 9 (heamatology), my present location for 22 years. Unfortunately she will not be back until next week.

Hi Deb, You are right you can only use your Outgoing mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.talktalk.net when connected over a talktalk line. I need to alter my settings to the hospital BT hub. Now the problem is trying to find someone who knows the information I need:-(

Actually Min, I think they have put me in the Private ward by mistake!:-S Breakfast was served on a tray with matching china. No tea urn for me my own matching pot of tea and milk jug. One of the maintenance guys has just been in to take samples of the water from my shower etc… I just hope they are not going to bill me for all this. 😀 😀
