Good news is always welcome Gill, and although Stephen is suffering the same kind of trots as Peter did on Revlamid and dex at least he is tolerating it and hopefully it works once he gets used to it. the radiotherapy sounds good too. all you need now is a smooth trip to your beloved France and your laughing. Albeit in the cold but hopefully the…[Read more]

I think I am most proud of my worktops which I bought for £100 each and was terrified they would be rubbish, once the were treated the beauty of the wood is visible. But when we had the funeral someone was using the benches stand wet dishes on and they did suffer a little:'-( but a few hours of sanding and oil and they are good as new unlike…[Read more]

Hi Chrissie
I know its difficult but you will find the strength to cope with whatever is thrown at you.
You will be surprised at the inner reserves you will find from goodness knows where. But it will get easier as time goes on. Your husband has a lot to cope with and he will be afraid as much for you as for himself so let him see that you are…[Read more]

It seems like your not getting the attention you need and perhaps you need someone to fight in your corner do you have a friend or one of your carers who could chase this for you Roz.
As a long shot why not ring the Samaritans and chat to them that is what they are there for and they might just be able to get you some help quicker.
Is there a…[Read more]

I am very sorry for your loss David, and God only takes the best. I had a very much younger friend who's funeral I attended when Peter was having his 2nd transplant. It was sad to see her deteriorate over the months. There are no good cancers, but at least MM gives the patient time to know what is ahead and enjoy life to the full for a little…[Read more]

Oh Dear Jo,
What a shame, don't we all wish that a long remission was the norm. As you say you have had a good length of time but its so disappointing to know your back on the medication treadmill, especially as Velcade has you tied to the hospital for administration.
But good luck and best wishes for the 2nd part of your journey

I have no knowledge of these three, Peter was on Dex and Revlamind and he did ok but he was extremely tired and had terrible trots with it.
But as you know by now everyone responds differently depending on what kind of MM they have.
i sincerely hope that Stephen responds well to his new programme of drugs and there are not too many side…[Read more]
