Oh Vicki, sorry to hear you sounding so sad. Cannot comment or give advice obviously because we have got this all to come!

SCT seems to affect people in diffent ways and so try not to dread the next few weeks, you never know!! No doubt Tom and David can give you more advice and helpful words.

    Thinking of you both!

    Take care

    Love Ann and Pete

    Hi Vicki and Colin

Lovely to put a face to you both. You prompted me to post a picture, albeit not very clear, but as you say nice to see who you are talking to. Just wanted to wish Colin all the best for Monday (it has'nt changed has it?)

Pete had monthly consultation today, pleased with blood results and so will hopefully get a date for SCT in November. He has still got to have the heart scan on Thursday regarding his swollen ankles and numb toes and so 'fingers crossed' that comes back clear!! Really don't want a set back!

Really hitting home now, and also the fact that he may be in hospital for Xmas!!!!

I will obviously watch your posts very carefully to see how Colin progresses!!!

    Look after yourself Vicki.

    Take care

    Hello Rachel

What a terrible shock! I too had missed your post because I don't normally visit the Under 50's site.

    Hi Vicki and Colin

So pleased to hear your news! Must admit, although I look at the site every day and keep in touch with what is happening to everyone, have been going through a period, when I have felt really sad and could'nt bring myself to post anything!! Seems really selfish, but we are all different!! But anyway, reading your post tonight, has really given me a boost!! So glad things are moving for you and Colin.

Take care both of you and everyone else on this site!!!!

    Love and best wishes

    Hi all

Really grateful for all your comments, has certainly shed some light on the condition, so Pete does feel somewhat happier. Bit disappointed however that as well as the heart scan (appointment still not through, but he will chase it tomorrow), they have also said that he will have a 7th month on CDT and then hopefully!! – SCT.

    Take care everyone

    Best wishes

    Hi Jean

Oh, so does sound as though it could possibly be associated with the medication, fingers and toes crossed!!!!! I am praying that is the case. All his other tests ie heart, lungs, kidneys etc have come back clear!!!

Thanks Jean for replying, it really does help.

    Hi Vicki

Hope Colin's back is feeling better, so pleased to hear about the funding, any news on when everything gets back on track??

Pete went for his monthly consultation today, they are now concerned about his swelling ankles and legs because the ECG tests have shown a possible 'dip in his heart beat'. OMG, we were just about to book a nice City Break in Spain for mid-October, but with an appointment pending for a heart scan, abit dubious, plus the fact that we have learnt our lesson with the Insurance Company about ongoing treatment which they will not cover if anything happens.

Bit of a blow, we thought everything was progressing smoothly towards the SCT.(Mindful though of what happened to Colin, not always straight forward!!!)

This is still on schedule for November/December as all blood counts are good – but now we have the worry about the heart!!!!!

Sadly, like you and Colin and alot of other people on this site, one thing after another.

Best wishes to you an Colin and to all our other friends on this site.

    Take care all

    Dear Gill

I am so sorry to hear your news. I have followed your posts and found it very painful to read of Stephen's death today – it really came as an awful shock when I logged onto the Myeloma site.

    Please take care Gill.

    Lots of love

    Hello Mavis

My husband Peter who is on his 5th cycle of CDT also experienced this problem. He tried Senokots etc etc. The consultant gave him LAXIDO on one of his monthly prescriptions, an orange powder drink. Certainly did the trick and you can buy it from a pharmacy without prescription. Costs about £7, but what the hey!!! as long as it does the trick.

    Good luck, hope this helps
