Dear Sarah and Henry,
I haven't been on here for ages due to doing the Ball, but am so pleased to have read this update and to see that things are going well. You must both be feeling chuffed to bits!!
Make sure he continues to take things easy…it really does take up to a year to get back to things full on, but then…and I really mean it,…[Read more]

Hi Sarah Jane
Sorry to hear you have had to join us all, but I'm also glad you found us!
It sounds like you've had a similar story to mine…I was diagnosed at 35 with SMM with a pp of about 30 too. I slowly increased like you and eventually because of suspected bone pain in July 2010, I started treatment at the Royal Marsden.
Life will…[Read more]

Hi Keith
Good to hear you are feeling better after the large doses of Dex,Slim never had massive doses of Dex,in fact after the pneumonia, they reduced it to 20ml a day on a four day cycle on the trials,so weight loss on heavy steroids still seems iffy.
Slims in remission, and on trials is now receiving no treatment, would love to say he,s…[Read more]

Hi Mari and Steve
Soon be all over Mari, but take it easy that journey alone is a horrible one,I was so tired just going up and down all those steps at the station was awful.

Hi Joanne,
I am sorry to hear your Dad is not feeling well. My husband Phil is on Velcade with Dex and chemo (I can never remember the name of the chemo) and his only side effects have been tiredness sometimes and his hair is thinning, probably from the chemo. Everyone seems to have very different reactions to everything, my husband loves the…[Read more]

Hi Sarah Jane
It seems like we are pretty much at the same stage so would be lovely to keep in contact. I hope your MRI scan is clear and that you have a long time smouldering. I try not to get stressed and put it to the back of my mind as there is absolutely nothing I can about it! Easier said than done!
Take care

Hi, I have finally got round to joining this forum having being diagnosed in June 2012. After a routine blood test it was discovered I had a PP of 30. All a bit of a shock, which was then followed by full x-rays and bone marrow. Thankfully x-rays were all clear, but bone marrow had 15% myeloma cells.
I have been on regular blood tests by my…[Read more]

Thank you for your reply, it is interesting to hear other peoples stories and puts some perspective on the situation. I try and keep busy, working full time with a 10 year old son helps. Occassionally I have moments when my mind drifts and I start worrying but I guess this is normal.
Thank you again
