    Hi

Yes is the answer to the question in my case. I was diagnosed with MM in December 14 when before I thought all was well. At that point was immobile with 3 crushed vertebrae. They put me on chemo etc 2 weeks on 1 week off 2 jabs a week and my paraprotein have gone 74 48 18 9.  Now 1 jab a week and next clinic 31 March where they have said we will be discussing SCT.

I think that harvesting etc takes 4-6 weeks, then SCT and then 3 weeks in hospital recovering and 3-6 months at home building up strength.

That is my understanding of the timeframe. Hope it helps and good luck.

    Hi

Thank you for these inputs. I am 65 so the same age as Mavis. I think I have to wait and see what the consultant says on 31 March. He has his own clinical trials and is said to be one of the best in UK.  I hope so !

    Dear Matt

Thanks for this. It looks like SCT is the way to go. I hope it is working for you.

    Live long and prosper.

Hi again and thanks again for that. I will probably go for it. It would be great to get back running.

Would also like to travel worry-free.

    Enjoy your trips and gym.

    Dear  Carol

Thank you for that. I have read that really they only give you two goes at SCT.  If you get your paraprotein level really low, isn’t it worth saving those two goes and not having the SCT until the MM comes back ?  Any view on that ?

    Thanks.
