I wish your mother all the best in her transplant journey, as I said to Tom it's not easy but very doable, just listen to your body and rest when you need to rest and take one day at a time tackling everything as it arises, if you look on the forum there are other tips for sct's. Get plenty of anti sickness meds and plenty to read etc, as boredom maybe the biggest enemy.

    Good Luck

    Dear Sue,

I am so sorry for your loss, I know it's not easy to hear some things right now, but Michael is out of pain, and you have to look after yourself now.

I understand what you mean by all the attention going away after the funeral and leaving you alone, I lost my ex husband nearly 13 years ago ( not myeloma related) and I have since remarried. Someone told me once that 'people watch you cope and then they let you cope' and believe me it is very true, but you will come through Sue as you are a very strong person. Always have a reason to get out of bed in a morning ! it worked for me. Take care, you and your family are in my thoughts.

I would also like to wish you all a Very Happy and Healthy Christmas and a Happy New year. Also remembering all the lovely friends we have lost in 2012 and sending warmest thoughts to the families who will be spending Christmas without their loved ones.

Let's keep the fight going in 2013

    Hi Lorna,

Hope you and Mike are ok. Just to let you know you are not alone in feeling this way. Martin and me feel exactly the same as you and mike, cheated of our future together as we have only been married 8 years.
What we have to hang on to is the hope as a patient and carer that the future years will bring either a cure or longer remission, I know it's very difficult to continually keep your chin up and carry on with all this hanging over us, but things are moving very quickly now with all the new treatments. Angry – I am livid !! that I finally meet the man of my dreams (corny I know, but true ! ) and I get Myeloma as an unwelcome wedding present. Don't be too hard on yourself, it's a nightmare for patients and their carers, but as patients we don't like to show it, as it only worries our partners even more.

    Hi Ian,

Try rubbing 'palmers' cocoa butter into them. I had this whenI was on Thalidomide maintainence. – neuropothy maybe. I tried other cheaper brands but only palmers really worked.

    Hi Gill,

So glad to hear you are home and things with the stomach seem to be improving, my stomach is not too good at the moment as I keep getting really bloated. I will have to wait for the outcome of the colonoscopy I suppose. I also have poor eyesight since transplant and find I now have to have an eye test every 12 months instead of 2 years as my husband does, however, I was starting to get a great collection of glasses and it's costing me a fortune, I have recently donated them all. Goos luck with everything Gill.

    Hi Gill

The gastrologist said there is 'no cancer'-thank God! However, I have diverticulitus and I have to have another colonoscopy (lovely) to check the large bowl/intestine incase there is an infection present, and also to see what the treatment will be.

I hope you are at home now Gill and feeling much better. I have my colonoscopy on 16th July so I will update you later on these results.

    Take Care

    Love Sue x
