I think Stephen has got used to my bullying tactics since he has been ill. I must admit he has the patience of Job. Although it is accompanied by a huge dose of sarcasm. When we go to the hospital and Dr S asks How are you at the moment? Stephen says very pointedly " Let's ask Gill"
Fortunately the Doctors and Nurses at the small hospital…[Read more]

Hi Bridget
Good luck with your radiotherapy. Stephen can't wait for his hit as he is hoping, like you, that it will be like last time and ease the pain.
I would not dream of giving advice to what treatment you should choose, but I have read that Bendomustine is the new lifeline for mm. They have used it a great deal in the States and before…[Read more]

KITCHENS? KITCHENS? Don't get me started. Isn't there an old saying that the cobler's childrens' feet went bare? How about the most respected building contactor in the area never finishes a job at home?
Yup when Stephen was working and employing a small team. A great deal of their work was to gut out and fit new kitchens This was done within a…[Read more]

Hi Min
I do hope you are having a more peaceful Day and that Peter is doing well.
What is it with men? A few weeks ago Stephen was due to phone one of his nurses to make an appointment to have his Hickman line flushed later in the week. He woke that morning with a temperature and rigors.
He said he would tell Sarah that he was not well…[Read more]

I?m Fine Thank You
There is nothing the matter with me,
I?m as healthy as I can be.
I have arthritis in both my knees
And when I talk, I talk with a wheeze.
Sleep is denied me night after night.
But every morning I find I?m all right.
My memory is failing, my head?s in a spin.
But I?m…[Read more]

Hi Sue
Glad to hear Michael is back home but sorry to hear you his treatment may be compromised due to the low neuts and platelets. I believe the management of platelets will be a priority over anything else even if the trial cannot continue. Can't Michael have Bendamustine outside of the trial due to his curent circumstances? Patrick also had…[Read more]

Good luck to all of you that can still do some excercise Stephen is hoping that after another visit for radiotherapy , he will be able to once more walk the dogs, even if it is just round the block rather than the 4 or so miles he did after his first transplant.
He has been most unwell since the second SCT. I am hoping it is just taking longer…[Read more]

I did not post when I first heard that Gaye had died because I did not know what to say. I still don't. Everybody on this site has become so important to me and it is heartbreaking to know that somebody has gone.
What a lovely woman. Goodbye Gaye

Gaye, God Bless You and may you rest in peace. I knew you would have only had a week or two left in this life and hope your last breath came softly.
Although I was expecting this news I was overcome with tears and taken back to the day my darling husband was taken from me. – what a lovely person you were, we will all miss you.
Love
Tina

Dear Sarah,
I am sure you found it very heartwarming having so many people at the funeral to bid a final farewell to Gordon. I am so glad you have family around to support you and as Bridget says make sure you take care of yourself. Gordon is now free of pain and all the angst that this b**d illness brings.
Strength and love

Gill replied to the topic Plasmacytoma in the forum Related conditions 13 years, 3 months ago
Hi Meera
My husband has plasmacytoma in more than one area but his mm was diagnosed before this was found. The fact that your medical team are aware that you may develop mm is a plus as they will be able to jump on the tiniest symptom should it show up.
Good luck Gill

I am sure that you can shout very politely so think that maybe the time is right to shout. I am sure as Bridget says you are exhausted but know that a fight can give one an extra spurt when needed.
Best of luck Gillxx

It must have been so hard for all of you to do the things that were already planned before Gordon died. The fact that your close family raised so much money is fantastic and Gordon's red tractor will be remembered by all on this site for a very long time:-)

I have only been popping in and out of this site recently as other things seem to have taken over but I have just caught your post and your decision.
