Tom I mentioned some time ago I had decided to make my own coffin from some old fencing wood my Son-In-Law had left over and you commented that you would like to see some photographs. The first batches are attached.
I am at the first assembly stage, which is really a check stage to make sure it fits together before my Grandchildren decorate the outside. After this stage I take it apart and send the 6 side panels to my Son who is organising the exterior decoration. Then I will put it back together and finish the inside, I was going to have bare wood to go with my Tree Hugging personality but my wife insists I look comfortable hence only the inside top will be bare wood. My wife is a big Cross Stitch fan and she is doing me a head cushion showing our Dogs and my Garden in full bloom.
I am not sure how many photographs I can attach. I will forward more when I get to the next stage.
I have found it a truly great experience which has meant we all recognise the ?elephant in the room?. Instead of whispered comments in the corner of the room or people siding up to the wife asking how I am doing, we all have a great laugh about how the coffin is coming on.
Kindest regardsd – Vasbyte
