Hi all
Came back on saturday from a lovely holiday in Devon with lovely weather, mum started with a sore throat on the Wednesday and worse, she would not let me phone her gp or lead specialist nurse to get her a prescription (stubborn i believe its called) as she said it would spoil the holiday??? anyway she is now back in hospital with pneumonia, disappointing as she should have started revlimid on monday, as velcade had stoppped working. Not long since got back from seeing her, she not well at all she is very confused, think that is due to the temperature that she has.

Hi Michelle
Sorry to hear about your mum! Are all MM patients stubborn cos Michael does things like that and then things take for ever to get better,
I hope things improve for you both soon
Love Roz
Hi Michelle so sorry to hear mum is not well hopefully the anti-biotics will get things sorted quickly When I had pneumonia last year I was very ill but within a couple of days of being on iv anti-biotics I started to pick up very quickly Stubborness is a good as well as bad trait by the way , its what keeps you fighting and your mum is a fighter!!Try not to worry too much and love to mum as well Bridget x
Hello Michelle – sorry to hear Mum has pneumonia and I do hope that they can sort her out very quickly – let's hope as quickly as Bridget. How typical – I don't want to spoil the holiday. Yes, she probably is stubborn but sounds like a fighter as well.
Please wish her well quickly so that she can start on her next treatment.

Please give your mum all of our best wishes. I have MM and would be stubbon but my wife won't allow it.;-)
I am sure she will soon be back as awkward as ever.
kindest regards
David
Hi Michelle
Oh your poor mum. Like Bridget Patrick has been in hospital this yeear with pneumonia. IV antibiotics will surely sort it out, the timescale depends on finding what bug is the cause. I know now that with any sniffle or cough the consultant is called right away and she drags Pat in – it used to be kicking and screaming but who want's to spend time in hospital.
Best wishes and a swift recovery for mum.

Hi all
Do you know i can always count on you lot for some support, she is a little better today, it is day 3 of antibiotics tho, they going to do some tests? while she is in to see how the myeloma is progressing as her proteins are creeping up, and hopefully get her on revlimid as soon as possible.
once again thank you

Thanks to you all.

Hi Michelle great to hear mum is feeling a bit better My fingers and toes crossed for her to get to disney on ice love Bridget x
Hi All
Update on Mum, she is doing well on antibiotics, but will be on Iv until Monday, and she will be re assessed then, However, she has told them if she is still in nxt wk end that she WILL be going out for the afternoon to see Disney on ice (thats me mum lol 😀 ) on the negative side 🙁 , her myeloma has started to really progress again, we knew that her proteins were creeping up again but have just shot up since the last count, what we need now is for her to start Revlimid asap now, as soon as her chest is good enough they are going to start her on it, she was really upset the other day about this, but i got the lead specialist nurse to chat to her and i think she now feels a lot happier, I think she is just starting to take on board that this illness is terminal and that she needs to think of her well fair now, took its time, and i believe reality is starting to hit her, but at least she still remains positive……So onwards and upwards eh Tom?
