Hi Amelie,

Glad to johns doing well on his second sct, kev had his first sct April 2011, achieved CR in the sept 2011, and the end April this felt unwell and it was confirmed in may that he had relapsed. He's now on velcade/ dex and hopefully second sct? He also managed enough stem cells for two so wouldn't have to go through harvest again.

I hope John as a good recovery!

Ah Thankyou everybody!

We walked into daycase today for kevs velcade we took a bag of goodies for the nurses and shared our news with friends also having treatment there, and showing of the photos, so you can imagine the talk quickly turned to grandchildren and for a while we all forgot why we were there! Even kev looking a bit like a cheshire cat:-) so we left with smiley faces into the warm sunshine and kev decidedly perky ( proud granddad I suspect! ) and mama!!

That's great news! I for one will be watching if you get picked? As for Elaine I don't know how she puts up with your cheeky remarks it's something kev would say, what you like. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope you get picked, and Elaine you insist on the front row! Good luck:-D

Hi Keith,

Glad it's looking good with the results, it sounds like your symptoms are a lot like kevs going through but he's on vel/ dex
He's just about got over his chest infection, yesterday and today he's off the dex and the fatigue as set in big style, he's also noticed that all the pains in his bones reappear. Went for MRI scan yesterday on his spine which is pretty recent pain were hoping it's nothing? I'm always nagging kev to drink more (WATER) that is TOM, vodka indeed! LOL!
Anyway Keith take care let's hope those results get better every time!

Hi pennie & andy,

My hubby kev has mm and is currently on velcade/dex after relapsing in may this year, he was first diagnosed August 2010 with a broken sternum and a few cracked ribs he had radiotherapy on his sternum everyday for two weeks, helped with the pain quite a lot and at the same time help heal it, he cracked it stepping of a roadside curb and missing his footing and actually felt it go! So I hope andy gets some help with the pain kev found it very painful and was glad of the treatment.

I'm glad you got yourself sorted at the GPs the clinic toady was very very busy! I've had to go back to pick up kevs ABs over a two hour wait was not good, after being in clinic for nearly 3 hours kev had had enough, hope the ABs will do the trick Dai and you are feeling better soon!

I was thinking about my sister who passed away just over a year ago, (she would have been celebrating her ruby wedding anniversary today) and at that point I thought about Bridget and felt the need to come onto the forum,
It's so sad to think this lovely lady as gone but I know will not be forgotten! Lovely thread Dai and a nice thought.

Hello Alison,

Just seen your post I'm a carer for my hubby kev we also attend Nottingham and see prof Russell ,
When kev had his Hickman line he was only there for the morning starting on the daycase and taken down to X-ray where they do the procedure and then back to the unit where after an hour or so were able to return home, the staff were very good at explaining what to expect and what to do next . All kev can remember is it was uncomfortable at the time and it made things a lot easier when it came to bloods and everything they need a line for, so hope that helps a little and hope it goes well for your mum.

Great news about your PPs and that you got rid of the infection! As for the withdrawal after cdt can't remember what happened with kev only that he went straight onto sct so no time to have any as I can recall?
