I am glad you managed the herculean task of getting that pesky form filled out, Penny!
It sounds as if both of you have a great positive attitude which I am sure will help keep you going.
Eve mentioned the mini recording device lots of us use so we can "listen again" after a consultation to reinforce our memory for what was said, so I thought I'd post a pic of the one I have and a link to the place I got mine.

Small and easy to use, and just needs plugging into a USB port to download and listen to it.

P.S. I just noticed the current model on sale has a 4G memory – mine only has 2G
As well as recording with it, you can use it as a normal memory stick so transfer/save files onto.
Hoping that your Mum is still progressing "as expected", Ali. I imagine her neutrophils are right down by now and possibly starting to edge back up.
Sending you, her and all your family cyberhugs – it will all soon be a distant memory I hope!!

My husband was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic when he turned 55 years, and has gradually moved up the "ladder" with his medications. However 10 years ago (when he was 70) I dropped all grains and sugars (lowcarb eating) and he ate the same things that I was to encourage me.
After a few months on Atkins his numbers dropped right down to the normal range and for a time he was taken off all his metformin etc as he exhibited no signs of being diabetic.
Unfortunately he never really looked into the theory of lowcarb eating or liked the foods I ate much, so bit by bit he went back to eating bread, porridge, marmalade, chips, sugar etc and is now back to taking metformin and glipizide to keep his numbers "normal".
Several diabetes specialists in USA nowadays recommend eating lowcarb (or at the least dropping all grains and sugar) and it seems their patients often reverse the process by following their advice.
Maybe if you have time do some googling for "diabetes and Atkins" or "Diabetes and Low carb eating" to see if it seems to be something you might want to experiment with.

Oh Lynne, I am so sorry to hear that John has finally lost the battle.
I can only echo what others have said so much more eloquently than I can, and say I will be thinking of you and your family and sending cyberhugs.

How great for you and Stephen that your Wizard of Oz has found something that he can do something about, Gill.
I have everything crossed for you both to enjoy many "laidback journeys" in the Jag – whether it is you or Stephen driving.

Hello Judy, I am sad that I have only got to "meet" you here after your husband has lost his fight against myeloma 🙁
I shall be thinking of you and your family as you find a way through this difficult time.

I was so sorry to read when I logged on today after a few days absence from the board that Peter has lost the fight against this #@#@#@ disease, Teresa.
There is nothing I can say to make it easier for you and your family to bear, but I am thinking of you at this sad time and sending cyberhugs across the ether.

Welcome to the family, Michele!
I have had my treatments across town in Bournemouth Hospital, though I did have one Radiotherapy session at Poole in the first few months – between CDT and my SCT.
I am about 18 months in front of you, as I had my stem cells returned on 28 August 2010.
I am glad all went well and you are now back on your feet!
